Does anyone use denise austin videos? I just bought her power zone the ultimate metabolism boosting video and it came with a fitness band. I was wondering if aybody else has it and do they like it.

Hey, Kittie! Yes, I have that one. I like Denise. I know some people find her annoying -- she's very perky, but I have good tolerance for instructors! That is not my favorite workout of hers, but it is effective, and I use it from time to time. I don't care for the band much, especially during the cardio section! Further, mine kind of melts together during the workout, and I have to spend a lot of time straightening it back out. I do think it is a manufacturer problem, because I don't think everybody has that experience.

If you enjoy this workout, you might try her Personal Trainer workout, which is similar, but you can adjust it to your fitness level. It does not use the band. I also like her Ultimate Fat Burner (uses a step) and Shrink Your Female Fat Zones (uses a stability ball). She has some Pilates workouts as well; I have one of them and it's pretty challenging! But it's good.

Let me know what you think of this workout after you've done it some!

Hi there Kittie! I happen to LOVE Denise. She's by far my favorite instructor. I love her enthusiam and find her very friendly and non-intimidating. Her moves are also easy to follow. I have many of hers inluding older ones like the get fit fast series, the hit the spot series, and fat burning blast. I also have a lot of her new ones including pilates for everybody, powerzone mind body and soul, ultimate fat burner, fat blasting yoga, personal training system, hit the spot pilates, and her brand new cardio dance one(haven't even used it yet). There's not a single one I wouldn't reccomend. The older hit the spot series is really great for toning. Each one (thighs, abs, upper, buns I think) has three 10 minute workouts so you get a lot of variety. For cardio my favorite so far is the personal trainer. Unfortunately I don't have the one you're speaking of yet, but I'm sure it's great. Have fun!

I have 4 of her DVDs (PTS, PowerZone, Blast Away 10 Pounds, Burn Fat Fast) -- dropped 10 pounds in about 2 months with her (and healthier eating habits.) Gained 5 over the holidays (mainly due to not-so-healthy eating and exercising less) which I intend to lose by Valentine's.

The PowerZone band was Ok--it tended to fold over and I eventually tore it (after which I "upgraded" to a tubular resistance band that I bought at a fitness store)

I'm so glad I found this thread. I love Denise, she's great. About 2 years ago I bought her hit the spot book and went from a size 16 to 10 in only about 2 weeks......then I had another baby and got lazy!!

I bought her personal training system and I liked that too. My problem is getting up and doing my exercises. I have been wanting to try the pilates for everybody, i hear that pilates is the way to go to lose weight fast.

Stacy, if you could tell me great vids for abs, butt and thighs you would be a life saver!! I'm afraid to spend all the money on something I wouldn't like.

I have the Burn Fat Fast cardio dance and sculpt dvd. I don't like it. She's too fast for me. I find myself tripping over myself and I'm the only one in the room. I like to dance to work out, but D.A pace and her speratic instructions drives me crazy. I like Denise Austin's older dvds/and tapes. I could actually follow those.

I have Burn Fat Fast too. I had that trouble at first but with practice it gets easier. It's actually a good workout. I was really sweating by the end (heck by halfway through). Have you tried other dance videos? I find them all to be that way, not just her.

I have a few of her dvd's: Shrink Your Female Fat Zones, Pilates For Every Body, Mat Workout (pilates), Ultimete Fat Burner. Since I started working out again last month I've been using the Shrink Your Female Fat Zones a couple times a week - in a rotation with other dvd's. I just did the Pilates For Every Body today for the first time in almost 2 years. I'll be adding it into my rotation as well. I'd forgotten how much I liked it! And I remember when I used it a couple years ago after I had dd#1 I saw such quick results - within 2 weeks.

I recently got Denise Austin's In-Door walking DVD through Netflick. Very cool! And I've done her pilates too. She makes it look so easy, but it kicked my butt! I liked the lean feeling that I got after doing pilates, so I'll def keep it in my rotation. I usually listen to my own music when doing her DVD's.

Hi,

I used one of her videos on Tuesday night. I forgot the name of it, but you can choose what level excercise you want to do. I chose Low Intensity, which wasn't so low to me. Anyway, if I keep at it I will get the routine, but right now, my left knee hurts, I did the lunges the wrong way. I'm not going to give up.

Deborah,
I have to be soooo careful doing lunges - watching that my knees don't extend out over my toes. Some instructors are better than others at coaching you at technique as you go. Denise is only so-so at that imo. Good luck!

I have Shrink your female Fat Zones and I do it every other day (the whole DVD) and already I have lost 1.5 inches on my waist and about an inch of the dreaded baby flab (lower abs) and my chest is tightening and lost an inch there as well. I started using it in Feb. but only half of the DVD at a time and about mid Feb I started doing the whole thing. I absolutly love this workout although some of the moves get on my nerves (one legged thingy with the ball and then the back stretches on the ball) I am really seeing results with it. My upper abs are coming in and I have curves in the abs area (the beginnings of my muscles? i hope!!) Also for the first time in my life when i flex my arm I have muscles lol

My son saw this and said "MOM Your turning into a man!!" (its not THAT big I assure you but hes 6) I said "No son mommys can have muscles too." I'm rambling I know lol short story of it ....I LOVE THIS WORKOUT!! lol
