I think it also depends on the source of sugar. I assume that with this cereal, it's probably nothing too terrible (like high-fructose corn syrup). It sounds pretty healthy!
DH has been eating Uncle Sam cereal, which is toasted whole grain wheat flakes and whole flaxseed. The stats per cup are: 190 calories, 5 g fat (0.5 g saturated, 0 trans), 0 cholesterol, 135 mg sodium, 36 g carb, 10 g fiber, less than 1 g sugars, and 7 g protein. Pretty sturdy stuff! I haven't tried it yet, since I don't really like cold cereal. I prefer McCann's steel-cut Irish oats. There is also an Uncle Sam cereal with mixed berried, which has freeze-dried strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries added to it, but he hasn't tried that. He says the cereal is kind of odd, but he likes it.
