New here! 226 lbs to lose!

  • Hi, I'm Samantha! I'm 24 years old and 356.6 pounds currently as of this mornings weigh in. I'. 5'1' so that puts my BMI at a ridiculously high number (67.4!!! WTF!?)

I gave birth to a beautiful little girl in September after 5 years of infertility. I have tried in the past to lose weight but never really get anywhere with it. At my lowest (as an adult) I was in the 200's.

I recently went to my doctor and asked for her help in losing weight once and for all. She has put me on a very low calorie diet that is 100% liquid based.

800 calories a day consisting of 4-5 protein shakes and plenty of water and occasional broth, jello, pudding and yogurt.

My goal weight is 130 lbs but I know it's going to take me a while to get to that point.

Doctor expects that I will lose the first 100 pounds in less than 6 months and then the rest in the year or so afterwards.

I'm excited to be here and I'm excited to have support and support others on the same journey as me.
  • Hi Samantha! Great job on reaching out to your doctor for help with your weight loss journey. Ten years ago I weighed 373 lbs and today I am in Onederland (below 200lbs). I am so proud of you for making this decision which will not only benefit you, but your daughter as well. Unfortunately I made poor food choices that my daughter saw and she ended up overweight at a young age. As a result, she was made fun of in school and it broke my heart that I was the cause of her pain. When your doctor allows increased activity, please get moving! I walk between 3-6 miles per day and it has been the key to my weight loss, along with better food choices. Good luck my sweet girl!
