Started back dieting on 10/21/15 at 170 and today I just weighed myself and I'm down 5.1 pounds and am 164.9.

I've learned now the losing weight at 53 years old is NOT going to be as easy as when I was younger!

Trying to find other people going through the same mind-games my head is telling me at times. It's not worth it! It's too hard! I'm so HUNGRY!!

Oh well, enough boring everyone. Hope everyone has a wonderful and healthy eating Wednesday.
  • Hi JC and to the thread. on your weight loss so far. I would love to see those numbers. Are you low carbing? Exercising? I'm doing my hundredth restart today. Trying to keep it mostly protein. My breakfast today is a soy milk protein shake. My weigh in is down .3 but still back in the 170's at 171.4 ... hoping to be fully back in here soon
  • Thanks for the reply Love. Right now I'm doing Weight Watchers online and trying to walk at least 45 minutes 3 times a week.

If I'm honest I would LOVE to be down to 155 by Christmas. My DH and I are heading to Brussels to visit our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. The Sunday after Christmas we are getting on a train to Paris for an overnight site-seeing trip. I am doing a lot of walking so I won't be "the week link" and slow everyone else down!!
  • JC I think you can do it, especially with the walking. When I first joined 3FC I counted calories and walked. I could barely walk 20 minutes due to my weight but eventually got up to 3 miles in 52 minutes. And the weight was falling off. I haven't been able to get back into the groove of walking like I want to but I am trying to get my eating in order again starting today. If you want I can try to get down to 10lbs with you by Christmas. I wanted to be at 152.8 by the end of the year because that was my weight on 12/1/14. I didn't think it was doable with the way I've been eating but I am willing to be accountability partners to attempt to get as close to it as I can. It is definitely worth a try. Let me know. You loss 1.7lbs per week/3 wks. If you continue at that rate you will be 153.8 by Christmas. You're doing great

I put the links to some of the threads I'm on below ... great people that offer lots of support.

  • Rennie: From your lips to God's ears! I do have to admit it is getting easier to make better choices when I eat, especially if I stick with non-processed foods. I find it harder to make myself walk!
  • Hello! I just reached the 160s, and I was 168.4 this morning. I'm hoping to get through this decade fairly quick! How's everyone doing?

I'll probably also put the rest of my November weights in this post. It's easier for me that way.

    November
    16- 168.4
    17- 167.2
    18- 168.0
    19- 168.2
    20- 168.0
    21- 166.6
    22- 166.0
23- 166.6 (aaand start the bouncing around again.)
    24- 166.2
25- 167.4 (why the upswing? I've been perfectly on plan! Bleh.)
26- 167.2 (still up, and still on plan)
27- 166.0 (Good direction! Keep going that way!)
    28- 166.6 (don't love this bouncing around)
    29- 165.8
    30- 165.6
  • Well, it's just me here, but I figure I'll do a post on Sundays because that's my 'official' weigh-in day.

I'm down to 166 today! In another couple pounds, I'll be halfway through the 160s! The first half of a decade always seems to go so much quicker than the last half for some reason.

I'm hoping to have the rest of the 160s behind me by sometime in December.
  • Still slow going over here but saw 161.6 this morning! My mini goal of making it to the 150s is still possible if I can just survive thanksgiving...
  • goodday: You're so close to the 150s! Do you have plans for how to handle Thanksgiving?
  • Oh man. I just got back from a week long cruise and weighed in at 167.4 today hopefully I'll be back to the lower 160s by the end of next week. I could see gaining 2-3 lbs but I'm sure the rest is water weight.
  • Well, I'm only down 0.2 this week, but it's better than nothing (or a gain). I was on plan all week (even through the holidays), but did see a 1.5 lb bump up before Thanksgiving (then a drop after). Whatever that means.

Still, I got to see 165.8 today, so that's nice! Don't know if it'll stick, but here's hoping I get going in the right direction again!

HIheart: Glad to see someone else on this thread! It's pretty quiet. I'm sure once you get back to your regular routine the weight will start coming off again.
    How was your cruise?
  • Definitely indulged on thanksgiving but kept up my workouts and limited it to 2 days. Back at 161.6 this morning...so close but will need to readjust my mini goal as there is no way to lose 1.8 overnight!
  • Here's my weight days for December.

    December
    1- 163 (yay!)
2- 163.8 (aaaand the bounce starts again...)

6- 163.4 (okay, I'm ready to move down again, now - a week here is enough)
    7- 161
8- 160.4 (I suspect these drops are due to being sick...but for now, I'll take it! )
    9- 160.8
    10- 160.8
11- 161.2 (well, not leaving this decade just yet I guess).
12- 162 (I knew it would go up - I'm eat salty foods not prepared my me for the next like month - this is part of the permanence thing I'm working on, being able to eat out and others' foods and still eat within my calories).
    13- 161.6
    14- 161.2
15- 160 (okay, seriously, I'm ready to be in the 150s now)

    28-
    29-
    30-
    31-
  • Penny-glad you're moving in the right direction. It's annoying when it comes off so slowly, but it all adds up in time, and time will be passing anyway!

165 today. I'm hoping for a couple more lbs of water weight in there. Tom is due today, so I have hope!
  • 163! I'm on the better side of 165! I want the 150s so bad! I know it won't be for a few more weeks yet, but still. Once I'm in the 150s, I'll only be 10 lbs over weight! It's the last decade until I'm a clinically normal weight!

I get unreasonably excited by all this, but I just can't help it.

HIheart: I have my fingers crossed for you that a little more of that weight is water weight or due to TOM!
I know I always bloat up during my menstrual cycle (and/or when I ovulate).
You're absolutely right about time passing anyway! Even if I lose more slowly over certain periods of time, it's still losing, which is better than staying the same or gaining (definitely better than gaining!).
