'If it smells good, it must not be healthy'....

  • is what was said to me in my work kitchen when I was heating up my turkey wrapped in bacon. Why do people insist on those types of comments? I just replied with 'it's healthy for me' smiled, and walked away

I may ask people what they are having for lunch in discussions but I never comment with 'oh that's not healthy!' It is none of my business!
  • I think you said the best thing you could say.
  • SunnyDC says it the best: Haters gonna hate!! Best thing is to ignore - you already have a 20 pound loss - which is no joke!!! That is a total success!! Just take the high road and keep going!! I re-started Atkins in January and people are really noticing the results now!!! Please keep going!! Haters gonna hate - Do NOT let them sabotage you!!! You are totally worth it!!! Keep going!!!
  • People tend to be skeptical of something that falls outside of the "normal" realm. Most people have been conditioned to believe you can't eat things like bacon, butter, full fat mayo, full fat salad dressing and lose weight. On top of that, most (not all) people do not understand the low carb lifestyle, and sadly, they especially don't understand Atkins. Sadly, Dr. Atkins was viewed as a "quack" that "died from his own diet". In my 9+ years of doing Atkins, I learned 1 lesson very quickly, you can't not change someone's thinking. Keep in mind when people make ignorant comments, they are just that, ignorant. Results speak for themselves. Often when those people see the results, the comments cease. Use it as motivation and continue to do what you're doing. Your results will speak volumes!
  • people at my work, in the medial field who are educated, keep pushing cheerios on me and making fun of my 'egg pie'. I know what a pain some can be but you can and will do this!!
  • thank you for the support! I do not explain my eating plan to anyone anymore due to some people attempting to sabotage. Today I had lunch a little later to avoid the crowd and unwelcome comments.
