New Bras

  • I finally did it. I finally broke down and went to Macy's to get fitted for new bras. I've been wearing the same bras that I had when I weighed 300 pounds. As you can guess, they weren't working any more. My girls were starting to slip out underneath!

So this lovely, comfortable woman named Irene took my measurements at Macy's. Her verdict...42D. Whut? That's 4 inches smaller in the band size, which I kind of expected but a D? I've been wearing C cups since high school! No way I'm a D. Right?

    Wrong.

I'm a D. The 42D bras fit me perfectly and are oh soooooo comfortable. I bought three of them. How does a woman lose weight and gain a cup size? Can someone 'splain that to me? Not that I'm complaining, mind you. In fact, I'm grinnin' more than a bit.
  • Your underbust lost more than your actual bust is all (cup size is proportionally based on the two measurements). Congratulations!

I went from a DDD to an H(?!) the last time I went shopping for some.
  • I really need to get a new bra too. I am thinking of getting one a size small and buying an extender to get more life out of it. Mine are riding up too much for me.

Congrats on your new bra. Feels good to have the girls supported.
  • At my highest weight I was a 46B, now hovering around 270 I am a 40DDD. Hard to wrap my head around.
  • Just bought my first F. I don't think the girls are any bigger, but I think people who get professionally fitted get a better fit, and that seems to often involve a smaller band size and a bigger cup size. I think a lot of times people buy a bigger band when what they really need is a bigger cup.
  • I just had my husband take this picture. Yeah, I've still got the belly thing going on even though it is smaller. Anyway, I really like my new bras.

  • Nice rack! And you have a great smile too, you look so happy I have to say, I'm so glad I might not lose my boobs! They are rather popular around here, I've been concerned that weightloss might be the end of them. Glad to know it's not a foregone conclusion at least!
  • You look great! And I love your smile.
