  • Pizza, oh pizza, why do you tempt me so?
You give me so much pleasure, but yet I have to say no,
Because if I do not, in my mouth you will stay,
    and the pounds will return,
    never to go away.

    *snaps fingers*

That is my poetry whine for the evening because I love pizza and it's such a shame for something so delicious to be so darn calorie-heavy. The end.
  • Oh good lord, pizza. : I love pizza. Why can't it be a freebie food?!
  • I have pizza all the time ! Just make it yourself

    Here's what I do;
    1 thin tortilla(crisp better) (90-120 calories)
1/2 cup fat free or low fat shredded cheese (80-160 calories)
1 serving or less Hormel turkey pepperonis (70 calories - these are very good)
2 slices Oscar Mayer smoked ham (16 calories)
1/2 cup classico pasta sauce (45 calories)
    diced bell pepper
    diced onion
    diced jalapeņo, the jarred kind
    sliced mushrooms

Bake the tortilla on the oven until crisp. remove and cover with pasta sauce all the way to the edges. put on all your toppings. put back into oven until veggies are to desired softness. enjoy the WHOLE THING for under 500 calories. If you use the lowest calorie stuff, it'll be under 400. Mission has food 110 calorie tortillas, and Flatout wraps are very good too at 90 calories! With all your toppings this is super filling. I have it all the time, sometimes with garlic bread and a salad ( dinner ).

If I'm feeling lazy.. I have a lean cuisine French bread delux pizza. I don't like the other pizzas but this one is really delicious. it's a good size, filling when paired with a salad, and has 340 calories. must be french bread DELUX. I always have some in the freezer.

Now.. I haven't had pizza in years from a fast food place - I stopped eating that before dieting and was making my own. this is no real replacement for the greasy, super cheesy fluffy crust pizza you probably love. but it sure helps get over the crazing.
  • Mmm...pizza. A definite weakness. My biggest weaknesses, strangely, are breakfast foods; strange because before losing weight I usually skipped breakfast. Not because I didn't like it but because I preferred sleep.

Pizza is probably the one non-breakfast food that I have cravings for. I love it. I love the toppings, particularly extra cheese. I like Papa Murphy's, Dominos, even Papa Johns which I used to not care for. I like local chain pizzas. The only pizza I don't really like is Pizza Hut.

And I love the foods that go with pizza, like wings and cheesy bread.

Ok, it's time to eat that healthy salmon and asparagus that are waiting for me to cook them
  • I had Digiorno's spinach and mushroom pizza last night, and I limited myself to two slices, but I wanted at least 2 more! It was so freakin' good and usually I can get away with a lean cuisine pizza. One day I might get a nerve up my sleeve and make it myself, but sometimes I just want my Digiorno, lol.

I had 4 more slices leftover and I was gonna have 2 tonight for dinner, but Mom made vegetable soup so I was "good" and had that instead. But I am having those 2 slices for lunch tomorrow, you can guarantee! Lol I wish I could have it all the time though. It's my favorite. -sad-
  • If I had to pick one food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be pizza. I've had pizza every week for the 16 months I've been losing weight - real pizza or Celeste pizza for one. Sometimes I eat too much of it but most of the time I have a reasonable portion that fits into my calorie budget.

During busy season at my office, we have pizza every Monday night. Some people claim to be "sick of pizza" by the end - those people are freaks.
  • Yes, yes, yes. I know. Pizza!!!! How I love/loathe thee.
  • Last week DH and I ordered Jet's Pizza. Normally I get the deep dish 8 corner pizza (I LOVE DEEP DISH), but DH likes thin crust. He got me to go along with thin crust because it has way less calories, and to my surprise it satisfied me. I'm glad we only got a small though, otherwise I would have been tempted to over eat.
  • I live in NY. Good pizza is everywhere. It's something I refuse to eliminate.
  • Quote: I live in NY. Good pizza is everywhere. It's something I refuse to eliminate.
this. except replace Y with J. i still gotta have pizza every now and then. trying to make it more "then" with my vacay coming up, but..y'know.
  • Oh yes....pizza. I was 7 weeks into my diet cheat free when I had my last birthday. I looked forward to cheating for days before then. I had mozzarella sticks and pizza for supper that night! Lol
  • I gotta tell you, I don't think pizza is so great any more. I went for about a year without eating any and then I had my favorite type a few months ago when I wasn't being as strict. Not only did it intensify my not-being-strict phase but it didn't taste as good as I remembered it. I guess my tastes have really changed.
  • lol.. I understand! I been wanting a pizza all weekend long!
  • My problem with pizza at the moment is that I crave it big time and then when I finally get around to having it, it's a disappointment. There is really only one pizza place that I think is "real" pizza (read: cheesy, saucy, dripping goodness) around my city and other than that, the Dominos and Pizza Huts that just under-deliver. Although, in saying that, I see that Dominos here has just released some new chef sensation or something pizza... pork belly with mushrooms and hollandaise sauce....and I am VERY tempted.
  • How does one begin?
How do I get myself in harness? It seems that the voices in my head start afternoon and don't let up until after 10pm. Any suggestions?Kyria
