Is this an "ok" salad to have with my lunch?

  • It's a create your own salad...

    saturated fat g1.25
    sodium mg110
    carbohydrates g23
    fiber g9

  • what is this? that is a lot of carbs and fats!
  • This is all that's in it lol

chopped romaine, fresh basil, cucumbers, lime, cilantro, jalapeno, spicy broccoli, baby arugula, red onion
  • Is there a salad dressing packet in the package? Maybe they are counting carbs for that plus the fat??? That is very high...
  • nope no dressing....maybe the calculations are off then
  • yea, that is weird, if there is no dressing on it
  • Are you sure there isn't a salad dressing package in the bag? Every create your own or salad mix I've ever purchased has come with a salad dressing.

The first time I bought one, I didn't realize the salad dressing was included (I didn't see the dressing package until I opened the bag). They also usually come with some kind of crouton or other kind of crunchy bits.
  • I would say it's not ok.

I you yourself aren't sure, dont risk it.
  • If the information is NOT including any dressing, that's way too much carbs and fats (we usually have about 20-40 carbs a DAY). But as others mentioned I suspect that's WITH dressing.

Although I've never heard of "spicy broccoli" as a plain vegetable. Maybe that is marinated in something and that is where the fat and carbs are coming from?
