Running Advice?

  • Hello Fellow Southbeachers! I started the SB diet on Friday and lost 4lbs already! Woo-hoo! But I'm wondering if there are any avid runners out there who are on the beach? I normally run 4-5 times a week, 2-4 miles each time. Not too much, but I'm just getting started. Today, I ran 3 miles and it was one of the hardest runs I've done. I'm wondering if it's because my body has less carbs for fuel or what is going on! Should I not run during phase 1 or have something higher in carbs before I go?

    If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it!
  • I enjoy running, and find it hard to do on phase I. I didn't run when I first did SBD, but on my redo's of phase I (trying to cut back on cravings or nibbling), I'll keep fruit but drop grains, which helps me tremendously. Since you don't have much to lose, this might work out okay for you...unless you really are trying to break a sugar addiction...then the fruit might mess you up!
