  • Hi Everyone!!! I am getting very tired of just drinking water. I have tried making teas and putting in Splenda, but have gotten tired of that, too. Recently my coach mentioned flavored seltzer waters, but they are not always on sale. What else can I drink, since I was told that all diet items are out of the question. Thank you for your help!!!
  • Sorry hun, this isnt what you want to hear, but my only advice is to just grin and bear it!

I HATED water. and I mean hated it. in 2008 I started working out with a personal trainer/nutritionist and when I complained to her that water was gross, and that I hated it, she kinda said, tough love!

Now, water is my favorite thing! I think as our bodies change, our taste buds do too. My body craves water now, and its kinda weird! I couldn't even drink 3 glasses a day, and now i drink well over 100 oz. a day!

    You can do it!
  • My coach said we can drink the Powerade Zero. I dont drink it all the time, I drink water most of the time, but every now and then I'll have a Powerade Zero for dinner.
  • - Lemon/Lime-ade - use splenda and try infusing with Thyme, Ginger, or Rosemary, Mint, or other herbs. serve chilled.

    - Try adding thinly sliced cucumbers to water- super refreshing.

    - I really wanted soda one day, so I had 8oz of plain Talking Rain sparkling water (cheap) & added Mio to flavor. It satiated the need at the time (my understanding is we shouldn't really be having too much carbonation, so I haven't had it since).
  • I use Mio and LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of sliced Lemons. Lemons save me in the water department.
  • The only way I can drink it is ICE COLD! I use one packet a day of Crystal light if I need to get over a little water hump. Hang in there. It truly is the best thing for you.
  • I drink water from a purifier or buy bottled water, use MIO in at at home to get my husband to drink it, also drink Powerade Zero, and if it's a "really" bad day I'll get Pepsi Max with Splenda or Diet Coke with Splenda (yes they are sweetened with splenda). This is NOT allowed on protocol so keep that in mind.
  • I picked up a ice crusher. I wanted small ice chips in my shakes (small enough to melt quickly but make my shake extra cold). http://www.amazon.com/Deni-6000-Ice-...00+Ice+Crusher
This Deni crusher didn't get great reviews, but it's worked fine for what I wanted. Anyway, I know there's cheeper routes, but I figured i was in it for the long haul and I really want my drinks cold. It has helped.
  • Quote: The more water i drink, the more i prefer it.
Me too. When I started dieting back in late March I stocked up on program-suitable flavorings, etc., to jazz up all the water I knew I had to drink.

I find myself occasionally adding some MIO, or sometimes one of the other flavorings - but it's quite rare these days. Not even on a daily basis anymore - more like 2x/week if that.

I prefer plain, unadulterateded filtered water. Sometimes with a good squirt of ACV added. Very occasionally maybe a glass of club soda with a squirt of MIO. That's my 'special occasion' drink.

And I found I dislike Powerade Zero. Bought one a couple of weeks ago to test it, and the rest of the bottle's been sitting in my fridge untouched ever since. I prefer plain water.

You can use lemon throughout the day (but not a ton)...I would take a slice squeeze it in one glass and drop it in the glass and reuse the same slice and glass to keep the lemon taste in it.

Some ppl use MIO I never did in P1...I do in maintenance and have noticed a difference on the scale when I stay away from it on my P1 days...and I don't use a lot. Just a tiny squirt in two or three glasses...

Also, if you're new to drinking water it does get easier. Just keep plugging away...try making yourself really thirsty with exercise or excess garlic and guzzle it down..
  • Maybe try adding a little (organic) apple cider vinegar to your water? It's said to be good for your general health & digestion, and adds potassium too.
  • pellegrino with splash of vanilla extract over ice.
  • 4C brand drink mix (powder in those little tubs)...sweetended with splenda...walmart has them...many falvors to choose from.
    Good luck!
    Jake
  • Ice helps. Power Aid Zero rocks. I like the purple and red best.
  • I agree with a lot of these posts... I used to live on nothing but soda and sweet tea, but now water is the only thing that satisfies my thirst. Just keep chugging!
