Ok, now comes the fun part - toggling between 2 threads to carry things over...
Annie - geez Curtis sure got knocked for a loop with the flu - of course that's what makes it the flu I guess. Have you not made him some soup yet??? That was horrid about the TENS condition that poor woman got. I can't even imagine. But I also have to wonder what some people think when they go to these diet doctors. Maybe it's like smoking - ignore the obvious just for the end goal. Did she have scarring from this afterwards? I can certainly understand you being over the whole superbowl thing. Only a few more days. No surprise about the hotel rooms for the biggies. I'm sure the better hotels hold rooms for bigger guests all the time. If not, some poor regular sap will travel all the way to town only to be told that there was a "mix up" in reservations - our apologies but we squeezed you into a room at the Bates Hotel - just be careful in the shower now
Laura - bit of a bummer on the mix up with the theaters. Sure are enough of them around to get confused. I would think it would be difficult to summarize everything that happened to her in a 90 minute movie. Particularly since she was one of those to break the glass ceiling. I remember catching a whiff or two of skunk late at night when I'd stand outside smoking back at my old house. Always made me nervous because it was nighttime and I couldn't see very far into the yard. It is possible that the brush in the back could make an attractive animal home even with a pesky neighborhood watch like Coal
might want to rethink the brush pile if you think you have critters.
Michelle - regarding the protein shakes. I don't see them as being necessarily bad, particularly if you want something to kick start your weight loss - as always as long as you are sensible about it. I will comment on a few things. I had a friend who used to mix the protein powders with water and drink them at work. She was doing it for fitness reasons - muscle building. They looked grainy and nasty and they gave her HORRID breath. Really. It was awful. Another co-worker lost over 100 pounds - twice - by eating nothing except protein shakes with frozen banannas. He was also exercising up to 3 hours a day. Of course he lost the weight but as most people will tell you, regained it as soon as he started eating regular food again. I got DH on the smoothie kick for breakfast - low sugar fresh fruit, LF yogurt and whey protein powder. The protein kept us full until lunch time and the fruit helped disguise the taste of the protein powder. You can also add flax seed and other good for you stuff. There were a couple of people who kept a blender at work and mixed up their lunches - it's just hard to deaden the sound of a blender
Funny I noticed that WW is no longer carrying smoothies or protein shakes in their online store. I hope DH gets an answer regarding his lungs. I just had to take a big antibiotic pill for 6 months to get rid of my infection - and seeing how it's the lungs, you never really get rid of it - it just dies and makes a spot that's with you forever. But it will be good to get an answer. The thing that worried me was that my lymph nodes were "active" too but I guess that happens when the body is dealing with an infection. And finally I agree with you that we in the U.S.A. generally don't pay alot of attention to what's going on outside our shores. Maybe that's because there's so much goofiness going on here in our own country that we tend not to pay attention to the news anyway
Shad - I see you are back home again. Guess I was confused, thought you said this next trip or two you would be spending more time on the job site. Would like to see the pictures of the butterflies. Sounds like it was really something to see.
No news from Mel - hope she is resting comfortably.
Ceejay - it's February and that means winter is over in the south
well - at least for the most part
Guys are over at the house on a service call to fix the fireplace / heater. The one that they came to November 16 of last year and ordered a part. Guess it's slow shipping up here
I hope they fixed it - would be nice to have that available to heat the front of the house where we need it with the high ceilings. Don't get an "open" floor plan if you live someplace cold
I hope they finish soon as DH will have to leave shortly - he is going to volunteer his services as an Access Database consultant to help out with the natural history museum's application and he has to leave in about 30 minutes. I'd rather not be left here with the repair guys because I don't know what they are talking about
Not much else going on - it was in the low 40's yesterday which I guess is springlike for January - things were starting to melt a bit. We still have a good 6 inch snow base on the ground.
Sounds like the repair guys are finishing up, that would be nice. Let me go be nosy for a minute...
