  • Thanks Angie. I do know I will be glad I am spending all this time with my mom and I know she appreciates it. I have always been one to visit her often so it's nothing new for me to see her several times a week anyway. It frustrates me that I have 3 other siblings in the area that rarely visit her and many (adult) nieces and nephews as well. I have great nieces and nephews who barely know who she is. My two grandkids have spent a lot of time with my mom and often ask for her. The 18 month old absolutely adores her and runs to give her hugs and kisses and usually gives her at least 5 or 6 hugs as we leave. I have a necklace that I wear that was my mom's (she gave it to me many years ago). I have told my grandkids that it's GG's necklace so they will always look at that necklace and remember her (that's my hope). The little guy will touch it and say "GG pretty necklace." It's so cute. He talks really well and is extremely smart/perceptive - he says "GG has an owie" and the older one says "GG doesn't feel good." She's very weak and struggles with simple things like dressing herself, walking more than 10 or 15 feet (she uses a walker), cutting up her own food, opening packages. I think they both realize something is really wrong because the younger one is much more clingy with her now and the older one shows such sadness on his face when we are with her. He painted her a special picture which she had me hang where she could see it in her room. He says it's flowers (did I mention he's pretty much an abstract artist - lol). I attached a picture - not very good quality as it was taken with my phone.

As for the boys' website, I'm not sure it's allowed to post a link to it. But the web address if littlesunshinedesigns . com. It's still a work in progress. From there you can follow the link to their etsy site. They also have a facebook page.

  • I had a busy day today with all of the end of month/year and beginning of month/year stuff. Just wanted to pop my head in to tell you Hi! Have a great evening and sleep well!
  • Kris -- Their cards are so cute! Some of them are quite lovely

Rennie -- Where are you my sweet girl?? Let's do this!

Diana -- Have a great night

I feel like my calories were high today, but according to loseit I'm okay. My protein was high, my carbs were around 80 -- that's a bit higher than I like, but still under 100, which is great.
  • Good Morning, Everyone!

I'm hoping that yesterday was my last day of TTOM.

    Calories for yesterday: 1290 +
    Weigh In: 149.8
    Down: 1.4 pounds

Angie Love the new avatar. Great picture of you and your little man.
  • Good morning folks.

I did not quite stay within plan yesterday - I went a couple hundred calories over. I'm not too concerned, though, because I was actually quite hungry most of the day - it wasn't the late-night snacking or out-of-control behavior that caused me to go over, it was just plain being hungry. That, I can live with, if it doesn't happen too often. Also, I didn't get a workout in yesterday, because I had a work thing to attend during the time I usually exercise.

Result: holding at my current low of 161 (just barely, the scale thought about flipping to 162 ). Forward ever onward, as one of my professors in grad school used to say.

Good luck and good strength, everyone!
  • Salley - I just can't believe it takes me a month to loose 3 lbs. I stall for weeks at a time, very frustrating. I know my body quite well (from years of working out, lifting), but I get frustrated again and again when the scale doesn't move. I'm loosing inches and dress sizes, but I want to see lbs on the scale
Of course, gaining weight and battling hypothyroid after a 2 out of my 4 pregnancies didn't help me either.

    Hi, Everybody!

RRB2, yes it gets *very* frustrating when the scale won't budge. I went from a size 20 to a size 14 from the middle of September to the end of November, but I only lost 8 pounds in eleven weeks! I had a month long plateau somewhere in-between Nov/Dec that nearly drove me nuts. I had to seriously change my perspective or give up, and giving up wasn't an option. I can't say I've successfully changed my perspective as much as I want to, the scale numbers still mean an awful lot to me... but I do try to focus on the fact that it's not just lower numbers that are my goal, but gaining health & fitness, and integrating my new lifestyle in a way that I'm less likely to go back to old habits. You're doing great, and as I tell myself, the numbers have to move on that scale eventually...

I know its really frustrating to be losing at what seems to be a snails pace. Remember that slow and steady wins the race and consistency will pay off.
  • Starting a lil' late but I'm in
I'm new to 3fc but I'm finding a lot of inspiration. I'm so glad I'm here The weight I lost between the 1st and the 6th was an accident, that's why I use the 6th's weight as my starting weight.

  • carter Congrats on maintaining.

RRB2 Hypothyroidism is a pain. I was diagnosed when I was around 25. I think that is one of the reasons that I gained so much weight.

    Ona Great job!

    Kris Hi

    Salley Hi

Unstoppable Great job on the .6.

Angie Congrats on the .2 from yesterday. What will you be doing in Nashville?
  • Looks like yesterday was my last TOM day too -- good riddance! I'm down 1.2 to 212 today and ready to keep moving down. Uhhh....I ate some chocolate last night, what a dopey move! It was 3 slices of a chocolate orange....hope it doesn't catch up with me tomorrow.

Diana -- Congratulations on your 1.4! Thanks about the pic, it's another shot from the same day as the last one, but I love this one the best I'm attending a conference in Nashville for 3 days (Society of Workforce Planning Professionals Conference). I've been there once before, my late BIL lived there and we visited. It will be bittersweet to go back there, but I'm going to try to see a few things we didn't see during that visit. I might even buy myself a ticket for The Grand Olde Opry; I think it will be really cool even if I don't know the artists well.

Ona -- Thank you Holding steady in the 150's is awesome....Just think of where you were this time last year - you are rocking it!

Kris -- good job on your loss yesterday!

Unstoppable -- You're having a great month, you must be working your plan hard -- good job.

Qtapostolic -- You're doing great! What have you changed to make the progress you've seen so far?
  • I'm back up to 163-ish again, after a brief flirtation with 162. As so many of you have said, it's frustrating but I (we) have to just stick with it. Sometimes I'll see the number on the scale and think, "I give up!" and then I laugh at myself because that makes no sense. If I never lose another pound, I'll still be better off than I was 6 months ago!
