IF and 5 hour energy

  • I'm trying to figure out how to get at least one 20-24 hour fast into my week. This week I tried dropping dinner on Friday, but it didn't work so next week I'm going to try dropping breakfast and maybe lunch on Friday.

My biggest hesitation with breakfast is that I'm a caffine junky and need at least one cup of coffee every morning, but I don't do black.

Ideally I like to just do a 5 hour energy, but I'm not sure it that's "allowed".

If I can't do that I think I could probably do a cup of unsweatened tea with an advil to ward off withdrawl. Opinions, tips?
  • It sounds like you don't like to drink coffee black but need the caffeine...

Caffeine addiction is a monster, isn't it? <-- typed by a fellow addict.

Any drug store will have generic caffeine tablets - You can likely get 50 doses for the cost of one 5-hour energy.
  • Agree with kputts, if it's just the caffeine you want, take some caffeine pills, or chug down the black coffee (there's no reason you have to enjoy it).

However, I don't think the 5-hour energy has enough of anything to count as breaking your fast. Everyone's definition of fasting varies... some people will take in nothing but water, some are ok with tea or coffee, some are ok with fake sweeteners, some think a little lemon juice in their tea/water is fine. So it's up to you.
