19% body fat! omg yay!!

  • Just got back from my doctor. He has one of those super fancy scales where you stand on it and also hold something and it measures your weight, calcs bmi and measures body fat....it even measures r leg, l leg, r arm, l arm, trunk separately.

The last time he measured me I was at 28.5% body fat....and today I was at exactly 19%. OMG, so never been so lean! The coolest part was that Id gone from 148 to 134, and the body fat loss compared to the weight loss means I lost almost exclusively body fat, heck yeah

Of course it still isnt distributed the way I want, but Im hopeful it will move around a bit over the next year(s). Want my calves under 15in and to ribs that arent so pokey outey.

    total: 19%
    r leg: 22.4%
    l leg: 23%
    r arm: 19%
    l arm: 21.4%
    trunk: 16.3%

    So excited!
  • WOW...that's really fantastic...congrats!!!

If you don't mind me asking...you've come along way to 19% and I've got along way to go sooooo....how did you do it?
  • That is so awesome, congrats!!!!!

For some reason, having a doctor tell me that I have lost weight makes it seem more official. It's amazing that you lost purely fat and no muscle, you rock!
  • YOU are an inspiration!!
  • That's awesome! Congrats!
  • I'm not very familiar with what body fat percentage means, so I had to look this up.

joyfulloser - One of these days I will post a proper how I did it story, but the short version of the truth is that I didnt have a magic bullet. And it wasnt as simple as "diet and exercise", it has literally become my life's mission to be healthy and strong.

saef - Though technically correct, I think the term 'elite female athlete' body fat % is a misnomer. Or maybe I just dont imagine elite female athlete's having cankles, cellulite and loose skin, heh!

Mental adjustments need to catch up still...in time, in time.
