I'm starting today, randomly in the middle of the week, but I still plan to have my 'off/rest' day be on Sundays, so I'll just switch it up. I figure we could all keep track of stuff and encourage eachother here. If not, I'll post to myself...

Anyways, WISH ME LUCK! I'm going for 199 by 1/1/11 and if I keep up, I'll be finished with this JUST before my 29th () birthday on 12/11.. And I think whatever results I get will be an excellent birthday present!

  • I'm interested in doing p90x someday so please keep us updated on your progress and feel free to use this thread to keep yourself accountable even if you don't find a partner! I will be sure to come by and see how you are doing!
  • Well, I did it last night when I got home from work. It wasn't as bad as I expected! I only did the Core one, which I've done before when I did p90x for a month.

We shall see. I guess it can't hurt to try! It's only 90 days...

And thanks freedom! I'll keep you updated!
  • Over in the Fitness Videos section there's a thread for people doing p90x, though the regular version I think, but you could jump in there and talk to people too!

When you did p90x before, what were your results like?
  • I love the P90X Lean program. I am finishing week 7 now. I am looking forward to the recovery week. I've lost 21.5 lbs so far and have gone from a size 16-12. Its hard, but worth it. Don't get caught up on the moves you can't do or struggle with. Just do you best and forget the rest!
  • Yey! I looked around for reviews, and its nice to see someone around here (in Ohio even!) doing it too. I did a full month of the Classic before, but I stopped because I wanted more cardio for results... and then I heard about the lean! So, I'm back!

I'll take 21 lbs in 7 weeks... Hopefully when I do it the whole 13, I'll be down 40. That's my goal!

    Good luck to you!
  • Kate,

I live pretty close to you actually. I'm on the Westside of Cleveland.

Some people don't have as much luck with the scale, because they gain muscle weight at the same time. It is important to focus on your measurements and how your clothes fit. After 3 weeks I went from a size 16 to a tight 12 at 190 lbs. Crazy! I also find that weight tends to fall off on the recovery week because I'm not lifting weights but my metabolism is high and I have muscles to burn fat. I lost 4.5 lbs the first recovery week and didn't go up. I couldn't believe it.

Also, I didn't bother with the diet. It isn't sustainable. Once you go off it or have a bad day, you gain it back. Stick with low-cal, low-carb, WW or whatever.

    Good luck to you!
  • I'm on the East side of Akron! I HEART the Westside market! OMG.

And I'm a calorie counter, but I'll allow an extra snack in my 1600 if I'm REALLY hungry.. Generally, I have a hard time getting to my 1600, though.

And I was in an 18, but I'm down to a 14 now. Most of my shirts are way too big, but I'm too cheap to buy new ones... yet. I lost most of my weight doing classic the first time, with some 30 day shred in there too.
  • We have the P90x videos. I have been debating if I wanted to start up with them or not. I was considering joining a gym, but why should I if I have these videos and a treadclimber? Sooooo I may start with you on Monday! I am weird about starting stuff up in the middle of the week
  • I am too, but I thought what the heck...

Do it on monday! We will cardio all over the place!!

    It can't hurt!
  • Sounds like a plan!
  • Wow! I think I might need to invest in this. Group efforts are always fun, and it sounds like the results will be worth it.

Do you find it really helps develop like, core strength and such?
  • I've been considering doing p90x and all this talk about the amazing results you ladies have been getting is super inspiring! Kateleestar, definitely keep us posted about your progress! I am, in general, pretty cheap, but this seem like it might be worth the investment!
  • See, I'm cheap too! (way, way cheap... ) I got my set of DVD's on eBay... I know they say that you might get scammed, but... There were a lot for sale that were just regular people selling them after they used them. My book has writing in it, but the chick I bought it from went through and whited out all her stuff and sent me a note apologizing. Anyways, I paid something like $45 + shipping for the set of DVD's, the books, and the resistance bands.

And I will keep everyone posted. I like the classic P90X and I did it sporadically before, but I think sticking to it for the 90 days will really show some better results. If I keep on plan food wise, I'll be SET! I only have 3 "important" events to attend in that time frame, so I'm planning on saving up calories for them, and eating smart. I hope and pray it shows!!

And as far as core strength, I didn't do it every day... But I have googled "p90x before after" about 1000 times and people get GREAT results from it.. I hope to be an "after" some day soon!!
  • I was thinking on starting it to. i tried it for 2 days and quit lol but im much better now with those things and keeping on track.
