NSV with an organ

  • Here's a different one!

We have an expert here surveying our church organ, which needs re-leathering. It's a fabulous beast, 120 years old, worth the work, provided we can get charity funding.

The inside of a pipe organ is huge, I estimate about the size of my sitting room but 2+ storeys high. Full of pipes and boxes and tubes.

So the expert, who's a real enthusiast, invited me inside to explain things to me. I hesitated - organ doorways are about half or less than the width of a normal door - and said, Well, if I can get in......

The looked at me a bit questioningly. I turned sideways, as everyone has to to get through these gaps and I ~~~ slipped straight in! It wasn't too tight! I didn't scrape my bust on the door jamb! I felt ~~~ normal!!! Clearly I still need to work on understanding my shape!
  • Very cool! And may I add, a very unique thread title.
  • Now I have an image of a line-up of us wanting to see if we fit through that teeny tiny door. Way to go, Rosinante!
  • Normal, you felt normal! I think that must be the most wonderful feeling. I am very happy for you!
