  • It' summertime, everyone!

    It's grilling and party season...YUM! So, let's make some healthy changes and choices together! All are welcome!

    Here's how it works: Just state your weight-related or health goal, whether it be a loss in pounds, inches, size, or even an intangible feeling! You need not state your weight if you feel uncomfortable. Though the thread is titled "weight loss" please bear in mind that the overall goal is toward a healthier us and so your goal may not revolve around weight loss, it may be maintenance, eating healthier, and/or kicking a soda habit...whatever the case may be. Fitness and Exercise goals can be listed in our sister thread: June Exercise Challenge.

    Note: We try to keep a members list with our goals and when goals are met, we highlight it in bold, red print! We love to celebrate with you! However, please don't feel bad if/when you may not reach a specific number, goal, etc. Always remember that making positive changes along the way (the journey) are wonderful accomplishments in and of themselves.

    Monthly weight loss challenge FAQ's:

    Do we weigh-in on a certain day and how frequently?
    No, we don't have a specific WI day. When and how often we weigh-in is a personal matter and specific to each of our own indivual needs.

    Do we need to post personals?
    Absolutely not. Some do and some don't . If you don't have time for personals it's okay.....please post anyway.

    Is everyone on a specific plan?
    We are all on various plans. Some do WW, South Beach, our own plans, etc., though we do believe in and follow the guideline of not going below 1,200 cals a day.

    What day do we count our loss, the last day of the month or the first of the following month?
    Either way.

    I hope to see people returning from earlier monthly Weight Loss Challenges and any newcomers. You can join at any point in the month, so let the challenge begin!

    My July weightloss goals:

    1) Drink only water, tea, fruit juice/water mix.
    2) 1400-1600 calories daily.
    3) Go from size 18 to 16 pants.
    4) No potato chips of ANY kind (my "cheat" food).

    Well Susie just hit one of my biggest points as well. Add to check in daily for me as well LE. The accountability of this thread will speak volumes for me.

    So heres to a POP month. Lets rock the cashbah ladies!
  • My goal once again is to lose 8 lbs. Also, I want to fit into the size 11 jeans I bought that currently I can only sport with a muffin top. I will post my starting weight on July 1st.
  • I'm in! I'm going to go for a somewhat lofty goal for July... I'd like to reach 125 pounds, and if I complete that, my goal weight of 120 pounds! I know that's 10 pounds in a month, but my loss seems to be speeding up, and I'm upping my exercise.
  • Ok! I'm in too. I need a challenge to get me out of this rut I'm in. I want to lose 15lbs. That will bring my weight down to 217.
    I'm gonna start exercising at a higher intensity and more resistance. I will also incorporate more weights into my gym time. I also want to get back into the habit of drinking 100oz of water a day.

    Delphi--Lose 10 pounds, start counting calories again, check in daily

    TheBunneh- Lose 5 pounds; stick to 1600cals a day or less; Noskipping workouts(5-6days a week), rest days do something active walk/yoga, No obsessing over the scale, or getting upset over daily fluctuations
    Lewisempire-Drink 100 oz water/tea day, log in daily,lose 10 pounds.
    vladadog- Reach 220 pounds
    eryns- lose 10 pounds and hopefully fit back into my favourite jeans.

    My goals:
    Lose 5 pounds.
    Stick to 1,600 cals a day or less
    No skipping workouts (5 to six days a week) and on my rest day/s I must do something active, like a walk or yoga.
    NO OBSESSING over the scale. I'm going to continue daily weighing (which I've never done before) but I will not let the fluctuations up be an excuse to get upset with myself.

  • After quite a pathetic weight loss in June I'm looking forward to wiping the slate clean and hopefully having a more successful July! My goal is to lose 10 pounds and hopefully fit back into my favourite jeans.

    My goal is to lose 5 pounds. It will be tough because I'm leaving for a short vacation tomorrow, so I hope that this challenge will keep me in line.
