Ex Boyfriends :(

  • Why is it that the second you break up they act like they barely even know you? In the begining of the year I was doing good, feeling really good about myself had a lot more confidence and met this really sweet guy online,we started talking, had a lot of things in common and on valentines day he asked me to be his gf...I said no then a couple of days later I said yes.He kept asking me if he could visit me and I kept saying no (I never hang out with guys especially ones I never met bfore never even kissed a boy before) I was scared it would ruin the relationship if things moved too fast(he wanted to give me a promise ring after only 2 months) .Then I started to think what do I have to lose we only live once.... I let him visit me he drove 7hrs to come see me.Being with him was the most fun I've ever had in my whole life nobody ever treated me the way he did and I doubt anyone ever will again. My family had a problem with that especially my sister and friend I guess they were jelous of me they treated me badly the entire 3 days he was here I thought they would be happy for me.Everything was perfect we were still good and I started freaking out bcuz he stared hanging out with his freinds more often and didn't pay that much attention to me anymore and I felt that I was only concentrating on him instead of work and school so I asked him for a break and he was upset and I tried to make it better by suprrise visiting him and that ended our relationship. He gave me the whole you can find some one better speech and just give me a month I'll be running back to you when I realize what I've lost and we can get together in the future.Yesterday was 2 months and his bday I decided to text him and he text back 12hrs later asking who's this I lost my job,my phone, my appartment,a lot of money, and a whole lot of other things my family thinks of me diffrent now and him who I thought was my best friend and he asks who's this? sorry so long I'm a little depressed
  • You know, sometimes it just doesn't work out for whatever reason. It sounds like he is one of those guys that gets off by toying with girls and being manipulative, and by saying, "you can do better" he would be absolutely right.

I had a guy say that to me once and it was the only thing he said to me that wasn't complete crap. I met my husband right after that.
  • I know it hurts, but try to heal and move on. Give yourself some room and some time.

We usually don't end up with the very first person we date -- it takes practice in dating skills and a lot of looking around before you are ready to settle down with just one person.

It turns out that this person was not the one for you.

I think your initial gut feeling that he was trying to move it too fast was a good one. Try to listen to yourself more next time, ok?

Don't let this one frog ruin it for you. There's a prince out there for you somewhere.

    GL!
    A.
  • Thank you for the advice I really appreciate it Deep down I know I deserve better.
  • [I apologize if this sounds like preaching or ranting]

Girl, you need to EMPOWER yourself! Your happiness shouldn't be dependent on the opinion of others. Becoming healthy is one of the ways to empower yourself. Think of other things that make you feel unstoppable.

Find out who you are. You do this by doing things. Sports. Crafts. Hobbies. And somewhere on the journey to finding yourself, you'll find someone who will support you in the good things [like work and school].

[I could write a huge novel on this]

Sigh.. Just remember that truly loving yourself will create so much happiness in your life, especially more than a silly boy. :]
