CC Accountability

  • I decided to make a thread to keep track of how many calories I'm consuming a day. Admitting my consumption to strangers will hopefully help hold me accountable. If anyone would like to join in and post their dailies you can as well! My weight loss hasn't really progressed in a few months, so I've decided to drop my calories down to hopefully get it moving again! I'm aiming for 1251 a day. Here's how the last few days look for me:

    Jan 31st - 1218 calories
    Feb 1st - 1210 calories
    Feb 2nd - 1240 calories
    Feb 3rd - 1795 calories

Yesterday wasn't the greatest day, as you can see. My roommate and I had a pizza and icecream night, and I ate acceptable amounts but still ended up going way over my limit. I believe I can remedy this, however, by eating 1251 calories a day for the next 3 days. If I average those numbers out for the whole week, it would end up being about 1300 a day, which I can live with.
  • Feb 4th - 1120 calories

A little bit under today, but I have to go to sleep rather early.
  • SW: 152.8
    CW: 150.4

I just thought I'd check in and post my progress. I started lowering my calories 5 days ago after being unable to lose weight for a few months. Now, 5 days later, I've dropped 2.4 lbs!!!! It took less than a week to see a difference in my weight! Finally, some movement in the right direction. Today I feel good about myself again.
  • Feb 5th - 930 calories

Well if I'm not an extremist, I don't know who is. I've gone from waking up at 5pm to waking up at 5am! Hehehe. I'm happy with the switch, I just didn't know I'd be waking up on the complete opposite end of the clock. Anywho, figured I'd post yesterday's calorie count. I was a few hundred under because I went to sleep so early! The funny thing is that my daily average for this week is still 1252 c/day, or 1 calorie more than my set amount. Strange how things can even out like that, even after a huge off plan day.
  • Well I got my weight to budge, that was the goal I set out to accomplish. I don't want to keep my daily intake too low, so I'll be raising my limit by about 187 calories which will put me at 1438 instead of 1251. I doubt that staying in the 1200 range for too long will be good on me or my body, as I still have about 30 lbs left to lose. I'll just have to offset those excess calories with more exercise.
  • Throughout my weight loss journey, I never really recorded my measurements. I figured I might as well start now, that I'm coming up on the last 1/3 of my race. Ideally I'd like to lose 4" off my waist, and about 5" off my hips.

    Bust - 35"
    Waist - 30"
    Hips - 40"
  • Way To Go
I just wanted to pop in and say congratulations on your weight loss so far and keep up the good work!!! Im cheering for you
  • I decided to go the calorie route to lose the weight. I saw a good calories calculator on everydayhealthcom
It has a calculator that will tell you how many calories you need per week to achieve your goal. I'm going to try the moderate activity level because I work pretty hard at work and I'm active even at home. My weight is high but if I go too low the pounds will come off too quickly and I will feel terrible. I'm looking for a 2 lb. per week loss and I can wait out the time.
In the past I wanted to lose the max and that was eventually setting myself up for disaster. Not worth it, totally.
I'm 5 ft 5 in tall. At age 19 ai weighed between 115-118 lbs. Maybe a couple of times I hit 120 lbs. I was also a runner and I was very hard on myself not eating any junk foods. We didn't have computers or any of these leisure time things that we do today.
You have to really know how many calories you need to eat and stick to it without mucking it up with too high vs. too low. That is a poor idea and instead make yourself move more and burn the calories better but never undereat just to oull a loss of water weight. When you eat under 1200 cals. yyou force your body to go into its reserves and imbalance your metabolism and cause water retention believe it or not.
  • misspriss78: Thank you for the support! I really appreciate it. You're doing excellent as well! Good luck on your journey.

LadyNASDAQ: Thank you for your input. I understand that you are advised not to eat below 1200 calories, but I literally did not have enough time for it in the day! This is not a common consumption amount for me, and I only came in so low because of having to sleep earlier than usual. If I'm not going to be awake to expend all the extra energy, should I still try and stuff myself with a few hundred empty calories just to meet a quota? I don't particularly like the idea. I'd also like to state that when I say I ate 1252 calories, some days it is actually above that number; when I log workout hours, I eat the calories I burn so that I don't dip into that "starvation mode" you're referring to. By no means was my aim to "under-eat just to pull a loss of water weight". Thank you for your concern.
