so confused....

  • I'm so confused! I've been eating more than my allowed calories, but I'm still losing. I am working out and burning a lot of calories. I make sure that my net calories are under 1300 which is my goal for each day, so does it matter that I eat some of my burned calories back?
  • If you are losing, then don't stress about it. You may need to tweak to lower your calories when your rate of loss slows. I don't believe in 'eating back' your calories but as long as you are counting and losing, you seem to be on track.
  • If you're losing, then it's working. For now, anyway.

I've always liked the idea of paying attention to net calories rather than gross, but the problem there is knowing how much you burn with exercise. (The online calculators or the ones on gym machines are just really rough estimates, and even a good HRM can be way off.)
  • I agree with others, if it's working, then let it work. Don't stress over it. By the way, since you are working out and burning a lot of calories, your body probably needs to those extra calories.
