  • Holy cabana boys! The first week of June is gone! Slow down please.

Got the garden tilled and the edges tiddled up yesterday but ran out of time and energy around 5:30 and did not get any planting done. Today will be a huge work day because it looks like a week of showers starting tomorrow. At least I won't have to water next week!

I could really go for a Femmecreole porn breakfast. The eggs Benedict on a crab cake looked wonderful. I guess I'll settle for a poached egg in a toasted English muffin.. **Sigh** Cottage is probably having a "lobstah" roll for her breakfast.

So what's on your plan for the day? Sit and chat a bit.
  • lobster roll
Sorry, having a Homer Simpson moment

Good morning Ruth! If it's any consolation my garden is still not done and it's smaller. The weather really slowed me down between the cold and the rain. A local guy who worked with a lot of the older farmers insists that planting early doesn't really make a difference - when the soil is warm enough things grow. Sure hope he's right. Hope your weekend has lots of relaxing garden moments mixed in.

I'm off to Boston to spend the day with DD. Apparently we will have a late lunch/early dinner at a fabulous seafood restaurant near the harbor. The rest of the day will be filled with walking around, maybe a ferry trip to the islands so I won't worry too much about food choices. Cottage has me so ready for fresh seafood! I'll try for some pictures with my new phone

Have a good weekend day Chicks
  • Good Morning
It's barely 5 and you both have me laughing. between thoughts of porn breakfasts and Homer Simpson I guess I needed to see the movie.

Ruth, I hope everything gets done today. You could take a mini vacation next week while the plants are being taken care of. HaHa-that never works for me either. The one consolation is that I think the garden gets a serious boost from rain and cloudy weather when it's first put in.

Cyndi, have a great day in Boston. I am sooooooooooooooooo envious. My bro went to MIT when I was a kid and we always went to visit. I would love to go back. We tried last year, and it just didn't work out$$$.

Me, off to go rafting. I had given up my space so Sarahs BF could go, and offered to volunteer. Yesterday, they called and offered me a space anyway. So I'm off to see what clothes fit. Ahh...next year I won' have to worry

I'll check in later and see what everyone else is up to. Thanks for all your support! Another day OP!
  • Good morning from LobsterLand! I haven't had my lobster yet today, but I'm sure it will find it's way onto my plate at some point during the day.
My eating has been absolutely horrendous, but delicious, since I've been here. Between the popovers, and blueberry pie, crisps, and scones, I've been in carb heaven. Not to mention having ice cream every day. They even have lobster ice cream here! But it isn't very good, lol!

We had a wonderful day yesterday, filled with lots of hiking and exploring, and mananged to get in a little shopping, too. This morning we're going to help Caite clean her dorm room, and we have a sunset cruise on a windjammer planned for later.

Cyndi, I will probably be back here in early September when we bring Caitlyn back, let's plan a Beach meet then!
  • Good morning,

Ruth sounds like you were still very productive yesterday, I hope you get everything finished today.

Cyndi enjoy your day in Boston with DD, sounds like you will have a wonderful time.

Debbie glad you got a spot to go rafting that sounds like fun, it is something I have always wanted to try but have not had a chance to do.

Cottage- Sounds like you are having a wonderful time- enjoy your cruise tonight.

Last night decided to go Grocery shopping and get it out of the way for the weekend. Today I am going to sign up DD2 for Soccer and then taking her with a girlfriend to go see Up. Other than that not much on the agenda so I am going to try to enjoy my "downtime"

    Have a lovely day everyone
  • well my ticker is lying and I need to refocus on my eating so I am doing phase one again. Not so easy this time.

Ruth-happy planting. the rain brings lush greeness.
Cyndi- Enjoy Boston and time with DD.
Cottage- enjoy the fresh seafood. I can't partake in that, just not worth the itches!
Pearlrose-Heard the movie is good. Enjoy your quiet day.

My dog is barking in her sleep, wondering who she is talking to. Been busy with the kids at the pool so this weekend is laundry and housecleaning.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and a safe one
  • Ruth, I think I may have a way to make that food porn crab cake SB...
maybe mix crab with veggies..onions, peppers, celery, parsley, finely chopped squash, carrots etc..then add a little finely blended oatmeal and mayo, then either bake or "fry" in a little olive oil...then the poached egg on top and maybe put it on bed of spinach and skip the sauce on top..it's really not needed.

Over indulged on rum punches last night and paid for it later on...ouch..
but feeling great today and just kind of hanging around the house cleaning a bit...

    Have a great weekend everyone!
  • Good Morning!

The championship t-ball game was last night. The other team won, but our team got a trophy, too. They were so excited!

Our farmers market opened this morning. I got soup-chini (as Auston says) and a beautiful head of savoy cabbage. I don't know what I'm going to do with the cabbage, but I couldn't leave it! Any ideas?
  • Ohhh tomorrow is weigh-in day. I was naughty yesterday but we had a rough day here, which is my justification for drinking beer. That's ok though, today is a new day! WOO HOO! Had a great time at an appointment and may have a new recruit, and also am going to spend the $100 Shopping Spree Gift Card that I won the other day. Little Guy and Tom are gonna get some clothes! (Tom insists that I get something too, but I have enough.)

Going to take the rest of the day off to relax. Looks like it might want to rain, so I guess I won't be lying out for my 20 minutes of Vitamin D, but that's alright. Maybe tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!!!!

  • Hi

Just thought I'd touch base. Everyone came home to nap after rafting..'cept me.
Lisa, how was your yard sale?
Chelby, healthy coleslaw? or Sauteed Cabbage w/Ginger http://macrobiotic.about.com/od/vege...gerCabbage.htm I love cabbage, and can't resist either, but I don't have young ones I'm trying to please.
Cat, your recipe sounds great! I might add a little egg white to bind it.
    PhoenixSF,
    PearlRose, enjoy your "downtime"
Cottage, may you return home safe and sound and refreshed.
Cyndi, I'll bet you had a great time-hope the weather was nice.
Ruth, may you have a relaxing day ahead for all your hard work

I am finding weekends are harder for me to stay on plan. So far, so good, but I do much better with the structure I have during the week. My checking in has helped. I only have 6 to go to be back to ground zero and I know in my heart it won't happen if I start cheating now.

    Thanks for being here.
  • Lexxiss, That recipe looks great! Never thought of an Asian twist to cabbage. Auston is 5 and I don't try to please him. If I only cooked things he'd eat, my diet would be awful! I cook things I like and offer him a taste of everything. He's just recently decide that broccoli is edible.
  • Wow, quiet day here - hope you are all out enjoying the sunshine! I had a fun day with DD. We ate at Legal Seafood and I taught her the shuffle the menu trick. I wanted the Maine crab salad but not on the caesar salad so we ordered it on the Greek salad, dressing on the side. It was fabulous that way and I don't think I went too far off plan (though I wonder how much mayo)! My pedometer says 17,000 + steps and I put it on when I left the house today, so not feeling one bit guilty

Debbie - I would choose rafting over Boston, not a city person. It was fun spending the day wandering with DD though.

Cottage - I'm game! We are getting married 9/13 but no other plans that month.

Pearl - How was Up? It's definitely on my list.

Phx - You can do it!

Cat - That recipe sounds Yummy! I may have to play with that one.

Chelby - I use Savoy the same way I use regular cabbage. I've found that just googling the food + recipes often brings me to new and interesting (and sometimes scary!) recipes. Here is one from our recipes: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show....php?p=2168829
We ate an entire head the other night. DP is now a veggie fiend too I love it when healthy habits rub off on the people we care about!

Lisa - Hope you enjoyed the shopping

I am trying to stay awake until a respectable hour for sleeping. Not sure the rhubarb wine is helping
  • LOL got my laptop back and found Jim Carrey's version of Want Somebody to Love (Cable Guy) and Little Guy thinks it's HYSTERICAL. He's CRACKING UP! Tom's lip synching and it's awesome!!!!
  • For my birthday, I got a card that opened up and played "Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer. Auston was all about that song! So, I got on Youtube and played the video for him. He was amazed at the dancing. He laughed and danced.

    How old is Little Guy?
  • He'll be 6 in August.
