Good morning ladies,
Today's weigh in saw a number I haven't seen since December of 2007 (which is where my WW weight tracking log started). So
for little things. Just have to be careful not to get too cocky. This was also after pizza yesterday (thin crust cheese and veggie - no meat) and a small serving of Super Bowl nachos. I did not watch the game because I don't much care about football. I did pick up some books for DH and got one for myself. Confessions of A Shopaholic. Geez - I see my former self in that book. It's scary.
Went to the eye doctor. DH has cataracts. One more pronounced than the other. He's been complaining about his glasses for a while now. Doc said after he gets the one removed he will have 20/20 vision and will not need glasses at all. The thing is, the cataracts came from STEROIDS!
With his back, he's been on them occasionally. That's pretty scary. He was referred to an opthamologist who will be calling him to set up a consult.
Yesterday was a gorgeous spring day. The birds are all singing their spring songs and the dead gumballs are falling out of the trees clunking along and making it hazardous to walk. Last night I was putting some things away in the garage refrigerator. It was quite late, DH was asleep and it was raining. I kept hearing creepy noises and I was getting quite nervous, like someone was in the yard. I guess it was the sound of the dumb gumballs falling from the trees.
I still finished up quick and ran inside and locked the door!
Shad - I saw a small bit on the weather channel about the terrible heat out your way. It's a good thing you got some rain to wet things down a bit. So scary when you have fires and such. Regarding groundhog day - I guess it's just a tradition I remember from childhood -
According to German superstition, if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on Feb. 2 — the Christian holiday of Candlemas — winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow is seen, legend says, spring will come early.
It was just fun to see the groundhog. I don't think any of us ever paid attention as to whether this "prediction" was ever right.
Ruth - I second the healthier February wish. Can completely understand the yo yo scale movement too. Sometimes we have to chuck the scale and just focus on more mindful eating and making better choices. Glad to hear you're back in pet therapy again - good for the residents.
Ceejay - did you get outside? Wasn't it nice? Hard to believe there was an ice storm a few days earlier. What screwy weather
Mel - glad to hear you are feeling better. I guess your experience is a lesson learned not to ignore things we should be taking care of. Pity that Jen won't be able to help you stay in touch. We will just patiently await your return!
Annie - several people have invited me to Facebook and such. That's all I need - more distractions on the computer
I have politely declined. Hope you had a good weekend with Tony and the kids.
Did you have a good Super Bowl viewing Michelle?
Time for me to go get busy. Have a good one ladies
