  • Well i can say that this first day of the new and improved me was almost a total disaster. My first goal was not to eat any fast food. I had fast food 3 times today!!!!! And now I am paying for it with my depressed attitude. i absolutly did not want to exercise!!! My loving husband was trying to motivate me to work out, but instead i got teary eyed and began to cry like a baby. The one success i can say that i had is that i eventually got up and exercised for 20 minutes. I know it was not much, but it is a start. I am very disappointed with myself!!!

    Tomorrows a new day!!

GOAL: GO SHOPPING FOR HEALTHY FOOD TOMORROW!!!!!!!
  • When you go to the fast food places, try to grab a grilled chicken salad.

Trust me, been there, done that. I've caved to the temptations so I understand where you're coming from. But there's always an option for a salad at most places and you have to firmly commit yourself to getting one.
  • you can do it girl. I struggled with making the descision doing good all day and then going home and blowing it. I did that for a month and really didn't change anything. On June 24, something clicked for me. I didn't want to be like this anymore. My clothes weren't fitting and my leg hurt. You have to want it and make the descsion that no matter what you will stick to it. Things are going to come but we can make them excuses or wear this as badges of honor that we didn't give up. That's awesome about the exercise. You are making little steps. I agree with you, get lots of veggies. You'll feel and a difference in your body and then it will be motivation to keep going. You can do this! This site is a great wealth of knowledge with great people to encourage you and to help you step away from the temptation.
  • it takes time to adjust....
i found it difficult to cut everything out at once....
do it a bit at a time if your struggling....
go to eating it once a day and ween off that way mebbe?....
  • 20 mins exercise on a day where you really dont want to do anything is no mean feet its a start, and like you said, tomorrow is a new day
  • 20 min is great! Just start changing a few things at a time.. and by the time you know it... it wont be a struggle anymore. We all have those days where we cave in.. but when that happens just remember that tomorrow is a new day!

Wishing you lots of luck on your second day!
  • Thanks Everyone for the motivational replies! I am up and ready to make day two a successful day. I am going to a conference where there will be lots of food this morning, but I promised myself to focus on the fruits and veggies.

    Wish me well!!!!
  • good luck today!! Stay strong!!
  • Yeah the first 2 days I just planned on excercising hard and not really changing my eating much. But after the first week I had already lost 5 lbs so any change in your lifestyle helps even if its a small one at first!
  • i think half the secret to weight loss is exercise....
  • DAy 2
Today was successful. I went shopping for healthy food. When I craved sweets I ate things like strawberries and grapes. I have not exercised yet but plan to do at least 20 minutes of jump roping. I did feel guilty after eating dinner, although the choices I made were good choices. I guess I feel like i should not eat much at all since I am overweight but I have to keep in mind that if I dont do it the healthy way, I cannot be completly successful, even if I do see weight loss.

Thanks to all who have supported me thus far. I hope that everyone had a successful day!!!

You know, you are probably right. My husband stresses this point a lot. it is hard for me to gather up the energy a lot of the time. I am taking small strides to make sure I fit this into my new and improved lifestyle.
  • Once you get going and finish that workout you feel awesome and energized for the rest of the day. I soooo hate waking up earlier then I need to but I feel that if I dont work out in the morning then I won't have the energy to do it later on. Just a thought anyway!
