    Congratulations Gail!!!!

Wow! forty one pounds down. That's fantastic

I'm not weighing this week. I'll go back on program tomorrow morning, but I can't stand to look at the scale.

    Best,

    Gayle,

Sorry for misspelling your name. My name gets misspelled all the time, so I try to be correct with other people's names...I've also been called Sharon and Sheryl.

    Congrats again-

  • Good morning!

May I join you nice folks? I just (re)started my low-carb plan. It's a modified version of the Atkins diet that my doctor and I worked out. Basically it's Dr. Atkins' plan but with lower amounts of fat (no, I can not eat all the bacon I want) and allowances for "some" complex carbohydrates (like 100% whole grain breads and occasional treats like baked sweet potato). I had tried the Atkins' plan in it's truest form last year. Lost 19 pounds in 9 weeks! However, my bloodpressure skyrocketed for the first time in my life. Since heart problems run rampant in my family, my doctor was concerned -- especially when she reviewed my food journal and saw the quantities of bacon, cheese, and real mayo I was consuming.

This time I'm being smarter about it. Bacon is allowed -- in moderation. So is butter, mayo and salad dressing. I just have to be sensible about it. She also wanted me to include the complex carbohydrates (again in moderation). So now I can eat 2 slices of 100% whole grain bread or one small baked sweet potato or 1 cup of wheat pasta each day along with one small piece of raw whole fruit (like an apple, orange, nectarine, etc.). This combined with the higher levels of lean proteins (more chicken and fish than beef) and raw or steamed low-carb vegies should help me get the 100+ pounds off (finally) without jeopardizing my health.

So. I got on the scale Monday morning for the first time since Christmas. OUCH! 265! OK. That's just a starting point -- don't panic, Jo! (It helps to laugh at yourself -- or so I've heard).

Hope you all have a great week!
  • I'm not posting a gain or loss this week.. It's my start over week
  • Well, I have been gone a while, but thought I'd check in...

down 1.5 this week, for a grand total of 47.5 pounds gone.

    234/186.5/145
  • One inch forward...one inch back

Seems to be my routine. I need to move forward. And I will. Started over again today. The gain is no big suprise considering I was drinking a DQ malt during chat on Friday.

    Weighed in on Monday...Gained 1.4
  • Guess I'm due for a weigh in haven't done it in a couple of weeks....let me go do it now.....grrrrrrr ....and the winner is........318.5 so that makes a gain of 3.5 since Easter but then again it is also evening and I usually weigh in the morning so all in all I'll be ok with it.

  • OK did an "official" weigh in this morning and was 317 so actually I've gained 2 since Easter but that is ok I'm ready to move on.

  • weight loss
I think I'm going to start again (again!)..

I'm not sure what I weight now. I went to the doctor on Thursday, and their scale was eight pounds LESS than my one at home. I'd love to say that's correct, but I doubt it.

Now I don't know which scale to go by.

    Any advice?

    Sherry
  • The week 1 total is!
I lost 5.8 this week. For my first week on WW! That was a great thrill for me. I got my bookmark!

On to day 6 of being OP!

So, therefore, I'm going to join in with the 'starting again' group. We know how to do this, girls, now let's prove it!! Remember we've got goals we're working toward for mother's day!

I've read each post, so just know that I'm rooting for all of us!! Monday, after my wt club meeting, I'll be posting the bad news!!!

    But, it's only a hesitation...it's not a stop!!

    Love, Gayle
