Hi everyone, I made it to the Dr.'s appt. yesterday. They gave me some Lasix and I was awake all night having to pee. Lol, my weight is down by 4 lbs. this morning. I have to see the Dr. again this afternoon for a recheck. My old family physician should never have taken me off Lasix in the first place cause I was diagnosed with CHF over 5 yrs. ago. I do pretty well most of the time until I catch a cough/cold or FLU and then I fill up with fluid that just won't go away (especially since when sick I always end up with increased prednisone which causes water retention and puffiness). Seems like a losing battle, but I can tell this morning that I do feel a little better.
One of my big problems is dining in restaurants, they put too much salt in the food and this causes water retention big time for me. At home, I'm super careful to avoid salt in my food. It should teach me to not eat Out, but it hasn't.
I'm loving my new floors, but my doggies aren't liking it much. They haven't quite mastered yet how to keep from sliding on the wood laminate. I know there are little clip-on things that can be ordered to put over the dogs nails. But, my Lucy would chew them off and eat them.
DH went back to work yesterday. The girls wanted to ride the new mower, so they mowed the whole yard for me yesterday. Yipppeee.
After my Dr. appt today, I'm going to shop for new kitchen and living room furniture. Hope I can find some that I love. Lol, with my new floors , I need new furniture so it will all look beautiful. Majorly hoping that whoever delivers my furniture will haul off the old furniture.
Meg, LOL, at you say I'm remodeling my house "one brick at a time". That is what it feels like. I told DH just the other night that with all we have learned to do, that we could build our own next house with our own hands.
Michele, jump right in here. What kind of dogs do you have? Mine are labs, Molly weighs 110.7 lbs. and Lucy weighs 65.7 lbs. I do a lot of dog walking too.
Shane, so glad to hear that you got a new job that you are happy about. Congratulations.
Blue, my mom used to make the friendship bread too. She tried giving me the "starter" stuff and I didn't take it. Looked like way too much work for me. LOL.
Megan, I thought since you and I always talk about "redneck" living that you could appreciate this. Since my old couch had a broken spring, I had the girls move it out on to the deck yesterday. Plus, DH had replaced a commode and a water heater and set it out there. And, my Christmas tree is out there waiting to be put in my storage building. LOL, I need to take a picture and send it into Bill Engvalls Redneck backyard picture contest. LOL.
Anne, I can feel your excitement at wanting that maternity leave to hurry up and arrive!
