in the book,phase 1 it says that you can have 1 cup. is that dry or cooked?

You'll use the oats you cook (not instant) so you can flavor them any way you want. A lot of people add chopped apples, cinnamon, and vanilla. The book suggests avoiding artificial sweeteners during phase 1, but I needed splenda in my oatmeal.
