  • Hello everyone!

It seems like an awful 'high-budget' movie happening. We haven't been able to go to base or send our kids to school. Doesn't look like we'll be going any time soon. We've been keeping our eyes glued to the TV and I've been holding my husband and children extra tight. Being a military wife, I can tell you, America is in good hands. This is what the military and my husband are trained for. They are ready. Everything else is so small compared to what has happened and what might happen.
God bless all the victims and their families out there.

I can't hang the American flag outside to show my support but it is hanging very high in my heart.

  • Shelly,

Thank you for your support. I am sure that you will need it in the days to come if your husband gets called out to war. It is looking like that is going to happen within days to come. When and if that happens we will all be there for you. I know that it can't be easy on the military and their families to protect their countries in time of war. I have never experienced that myself but I will be praying for all that I can.

Just to let everyone know what is happening here. There have been so many people willing to help out in this situation it is amazing and so heart touching to hear about it from hour to hour on the radio. Our local radio station has raised with the communities help over $39,000.00 to send to NYC. Also they have filled 4 huge tractor trailers of supplies that have been donated and the donations and money keep rolling in. It is so unbelievable. Some people even donated some dog food and bones for the dogs that are involved. They and us had forgotten about the K9 dogs that are assisting in the rescue effort. But someone was thinking and that is good and what we need right now.
They are turning people away to give blood because the lines are so long. They had said that they needed 0 type blood. Myself and my friend both fit that description. We were going to donate but we were told to wait for 2-3 weeks because they have so many people and they are taking appts only. They are trying to set up a blood drive in our town but they said it will take a few weeks because all the mobile vans are being used for that purpose elsewhere. But I am willing to give if it will help someone. I have only given once in my life. I have no money to give right now but I thought this would be just as important. So we will wait. Unfortunately there are going to be so many casualties that they won't need the amount of blood that people have been giving.

But we have to keep our head held high and our flags flying for support of our country and if we all stand together then we will be a stronger nation. We are not alone in this like shelly said they are behind us and other countries as well. We will win this time.

Have a great day everyone. Keep smiling or try to anyway. I am thinking of you all.

  • I think the blood drives must be doing the same thing everywhere. They are asking people in my area of FLorida to also wait to donate.Isn't this a great country we live in.I just saw where they found 5 firemen alive today.Isn't that wonderful.I really did not think they would find anyone alive .They are hoping to find more.
Let us keep all these people in our prayers. We still have many more troubling days ahead of us.
It all seems like a nightmare out of some movie. It is just awful
  • Hi everyone...
It's been a while since I have posted. I was going thru a period where I just didn't want to diet. Now, in the light of everything that is happening, my weight is just not important.

One of my sons is a pilot for American Airlines. When I turned on the news Tuesday and heard that it was an American Airlines plane that had hit the World Trade Center, I immediately thought of him. I knew that he sometimes flew to NY, but didn't think he would be flying the Boston to Los Angeles flight. We called his home and found out that he WAS in NY. My DIL thought he would be okay. He usually stays in Times Square. I spent the morning trying to call him and my sister in VA. (My niece works in Washington, DC, near the pentagon). The lines between here and there was so tied up that it was early afternoon before I got him. He was in Newark, NJ. For some reason the airlines had put their crew up there instead of their usually place. He was due to fly out of Newark on Tuesday. He's still there, holed up in a motel. I heard on the news that the airports had been closed again today and more arrests had been made. I hope they stay closed until its safe again. I thank God that he is okay. My niece was okay too. She works about 1/2 mile from the Pentagon. I have a lot to be thankful for. And I'll keep all those families who have lost loved ones, in prayer. And our country.

I've missed everyone and hope to get back more often.
