  • Anyone heard of them? They are a tofu noodle. They have no carbs, 20 calories and .5 fat. They aren't a starch so how would you count them?? Here are the nutritional facts:

  • Ummmm... condiment???

With 20 calories, you could count this as a condiment and get away with it. Since there is tofu in it, maybe you can triple it and count it as 1/2P?
  • Tofu is considered a protein by vegetarians. Any out there that could help with this question?
  • Actually I called my COD and she said the 1 40z serving would in fact be a condiment. I am so excited. Just hope they taste good. It would be nice to have a "pasta" again.
  • Karla - Let us know. I'm with you on the "pasta". BTW... what's the serving size?
  • 4oz is the serving size on the package.. 2 servings per package.
  • I was interested in trying these too, after I read about it on hungrygirl.com.

So, please don't be mad at me when I say this, but.....a friend of mine tried these noodles and she told me that they tasted like slimy rubber bands. (just thought you'd like to know) I didn't try them myself!
  • Not sure if she did this but you are suppose to rinse them 3-4 times in water to get rid of the liquid them come in, from what I read. I will be getting some and will let you know.
  • where do you find them? With the veggies by the tofu? I think they would be good with spinach salad and Newman's oriental drsg. Maybe I will go look for that for lunch. I am not a pasta lover but I miss it. 1/3 cup serving of pasta is like nothing!
  • Yep, she followed the directions, but please let me know what you think.
  • From what I gather from a friend they are in the health food section. There are some in the refrigerated section as well. Not sure what your stores are like but we have a whole section that is health foods, cold products and shelved.
  • I found them in an oriental store. Took the package to COD and they showed it to the nutritionist and she said 1/2 the package is 1 starch. I tried to argue and they said it is one starch. Has anyone else taken them to the cod? I thought they should be a protein or something other than a starch.
  • Oh yes they are wonderful. I rinse them off and add them at the last min. to my stir fry. It really streaches the whole dish. They are like having real noodles. Where I get them they have the type that are like spaghetti and some like fettecini. Even as a starch it's a lot and very filling
  • i bought them a month ago and was excited for the possiblilities. the taste wasn't too bad but the texture was a bit odd. Didn't care for it too much. Oh, the initial smell was a bit fishy but if you rinse it under water for a while, the smell goes away.
  • Okay, I'm game. What type of packaging are they in? Bag, can, box, etc.
