  • Hey lala - I had my very first Krispy Kreme donut in Las Vegas last April - it was good, but I had heard SO much hype about them that it was sort of a letdown when I finally tasted one for the first time - definitely not a "must have" item on my list. I'm kinda glad I didn't "swoon" over them - they don't have them here in Wisconsin, but I'm sure that will change.

  • myra-
you should be my role model. You can go to events and maintain your fantastic point average. Go girl and take a bow!

Hey Laurel- your menu doesn't sound too bad, it just sounds like one of my can't control my environment days. I have calculated that I will have 150 of them this year alone (travel). Hmm. I wonder why I haven't lost any weight this year.

Cutlets or cotleht (this iranian pronunciation) are basically ground meat of some sort (my mom used turkey breast meat for me ), potatoes, spices and they are dipped in egg, bread crumbs and then pan fried. They are not the best thing in the world for you, but once in a while, its nice to have a treat. She made them hot for me, so they were especially good.

I went to the Iranian grocery store with my mom (got to get DP a phone card while I'm gone) and it smelled divine. Kebabs and lots of exotic spices and all sort of vegetables that you don't see in Trader Joes, Whole foods, Bread and Circus and K.Roger....

Okay, Its getting past my bedtime and I still have stuff to do.

    lala
  • La - the cottelets sound just delicious, especially since they were made by Ma. or should we say LaMa? LaLaMama??

As I mentioned before, most of our Indian friends are Iranis or Parsis (i.e. partially Irani) and their cuisine is so very good. The patties, the kebabs, yes, the cutlets, the stews, the meats....salivate. I have a Parsi cookbook. Great reading if nothing else. Actually with some cool weather coming, I'm really looking forward to making some Parsi food. WW-style of course!!!
