WELCOME !!!
We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.
We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.
We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.
If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.
Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

Well, being supportive my DH accompanied me - I let him be "walk leader" and direct me to some places I haven't really seen in our neighbourhood....my goal was a basic 10 minutes. Not much, but I told myself if I can do that everyday, I'd have no regrets at the end of the week. So, I wanted to see how many steps I did in 10 minutes - so with my pedometer on DH timed me, and at the 10 minute mark I was at around 1000 steps - exactly what I had been calculating. Oh, and yes, those 10 minutes were NONSTOP!!!
And I didn't even feel back pain, so I asked DH to lengthen the "tour". Well, we just got home and I HAD to jump on here to tell you all about my AMAZING NSV...here it is: On our walk I got in 6760 steps, 66 minutes, and 3.1 miles!!!! And that part that almost makes me me wanna cry is that all this was done with EVER stopping or slowing down - OMG!!!!! I never thought I could do this...just a bit ago 10 minutes in a row was my limit, I wouldn't have been able to keep going for sure. I haven't walked that long in a row in...wow, at least a few years...even on a treadmill where it can be easier (no hills, or things to step over, etc) I did my walk in 10 minutes increments - and I was sore...but not now!! I hope I can get in 1 long walk once a week or so...I'm just so proud of myself...I think I'm floating a bit, LOL!!
I can't wait until my body and fitness continue to improve.

on walking so far!! You sounded so proud of yourself and you had every right to be so. Just think, you feel so fantastic now, imagine how much more you will be able to do as you lose more and more weight
I am glad you realise that a 2 lb a week loss is brilliant, even 1 lb a week is fabulous too. Like you said, if you keep losing every week, no matter how big or small the numbers, you WILL get to your goal
I wonder how many of the other ladies are scoffing and saying what I think, which is, I can't see it
) But still, going out and walking over 2 miles at 830 in the morning has to be good for me, lol! Thanks again all.
