Fleischmann's with Olive Oil

  • I am missing butter. I'm doing great on everything else, and I really only "need" it in my oatmeal, as I prefer hummus on my bread and like my brown rice plain.

So, has anyone tried the Fleichmann's Margarine with Olive Oil? I don't know how Sonoma friendly it is, but it has 0 Trans Fat and 1.5 g of Saturated Fat per serving. Any feedback would be appreciated.

You know how it is...the second you get it in your head that you're depriving yourself of something, the second you start to crave it, and the more likely a binge will creep up on you.
  • I haven't tried this yet, but I did check out the nutrionals on this.

This is NOT trans fat free, even though the label says so. In order to qualify for the trans fat free label, there is a certain leve l of transfats that the item has to be under according to the FDA... .5 grams per serving is the level I believe. BUT... when you read the ingredients it very clearly lists.. PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL.. this IS a trans fat.

If you only eat spreads rarely, than this would be a decent choice. I found one spread that has no hydrogenated fats in it.. a Smart Balance spread. No it's not as tasty as Brummel and Brown (which is also labeled as transfat free but has hydrogenated oils in it) which I use to eat.

    Caveat Emptor
  • I brush some olive oil on my toast and put it in the broiler.
