Saturday Thread

  • Well guys looks kind of slow on here from yesterday, Hope everyone is doing good and enjoying the summertime
    I started the nutrisystem program today with my daughter and so far so good... She wouldnt do it unless I did, so mom did it too, who knows it could help in a weightloss to keep me in lee way, Either way I am doing it for her and that makes me feel good
    She has 30 pounds to lose and is only 7 years old, so please pray for her, she needs lots of love and support to get her to where she is supposed to be and I sure want to be the one to give it to her any way I can.....I hate it that she is so young and has to even think about her weight, She should be worrying about nothing right now but I guess she has her metabolism problem from me, She is just like mom in so many ways, I am just so blessed to have her in my life at all
    Well enough rambling, Better get some work done around here....BIG OL TOPS HUGS TO ALL YOU GREAT LADIES!!!

    I am hanging in there.Eating at Chili's last night didn't help.I don't think awesome blossom will help me lose.Am going out to pool on a few minutes and swim laps.If nothing else at least I can get back to exercise.Hope all have a good weekend.

    Christie-i've been overweight my whole life, and if I could change one thing, it would have been the support of my family as I was growing up. Everyone wanted me to lose weight, but no one encouraged me. Know one taught me how to eat. And I still see some of that in me now. I have to have meat and potatoes at every meal or at least dinner, or it's not dinner.
    We didn't have a lot of deserts, so somehow, i have it in me, that no meal is complete (dinner) unless I have some kind of treat.
    So i personally think it is awesome of you to do this for her. Nip it in the butt, before it does become a problem. All you can do, is what you are doing. Being a great and caring mom.
    Sherri and i had somewhat of the same conversation this morning.
    you also have to encourage that she is a good person the way she is.

    Well, on my home scale at least I'm already back down to what I was before I went away. So I am happy. It only took one day, so I'm thinking it has something to do with airplane travel for me, retaining fluids from altitude or something.

    wrbedell: I'm glad you are so pumped about this. that is definitely a good attitude to have

    Eleni: I eat at chilis quite often. I don't know if this helps, but at lluch I usually order their soup and salad combo and at dinner I almost ALWAYS get the Citrus Fire Grilled Shrimp and Chicken. I order it with double grilled veggies and no rice although I've been told the rice is tasty too. However, one awesome blossom won't spell ruin for your weightloss unless you allow it to mean the end of good eating for you. So just forget about it and forge on.

    Christie: I'm glad you are supporting your daughter in her struggle to get back to a healthy weight for her age and height. Keep us updated and we will keep her in our prayers. Oh... do you ever go on walks with her? Starting that tradition as something the two of you do alone together might be a big help both physically and emotionally.

    Hello to all of you:

    I have been so busy I have had a hard time finding time for myself to get on the computer or do anything else. I did manage to exercise today. I did thirty minutes of yoga, and I feel much better with myself just for doing that, when I would rather just sit on the couch and do nothing, and of course think about food. What are those called again, couch potatoes!!

    Christie - good luck to you and your little one, my prayers are with both of you. You are doing a great thing by giving her support like you are. You are doing something many people would just say it is for her to learn, kudos to you.

    Sadie - having the same kind of day too. dont feel bad, I am trying to make sure I am good over the weekend. My weigh in day is on Tuesday, and it seems like I can really lose track of myself on the weekend, it is my hardest time.

    Hope all the rest of you are well, still trying to get to learn all the names and people, hope everyone is good over the weekend. I know this is my hardest time, and I always want to munch and snack, I have been working on snacking on only vegies and fruits. I have switched all of the stuff in our house to lowfat, that was a good step for us. Finally on skim milk - yeah - this took forever. Since my family has no problems with this, I tell the lower fat is better for your entire body, not just for me trying to make my diet better.

    I am enjoying this little trophy on my kitchen table, for being loser of the week. My main goal is to get this again, it really makes you work to pay attention to what you are eating so I might want to get it again, oops, wrong attitude, I am gonna try my hardest to get this on my kitchen table again!!!

    well, lots of luck to all this weekend.!!

    She is so excited toooo, and I let her help me cook our food tonight and she had a real blast, they sure give you big suppers on our plan But by the time you get to eat it,your really ready for a big meal LOL, Once again.....Thanks for all your help, I dont know what I would do without you guys

    Great picture. It is so good to finally put a face with the name.
    I also commend you for supporting your daughter like you do. There are plenty of parents out there today over 50% that don't care what their kids do or if they are healthy or not. So being of the minority I give you a lot of credit. If it were megan I would do the same thing. I know it is expensive but I would find the money somehow. You are really boosting her self esteem by cheering her on and making her feel normal. That is so important to kids and you are great. You are building her future and it is going to be a bright one.
    keep up the great work girl. I think this might be good for you also because you won't be able to pick. Ha Ha you will have to eat it all.LOL NO PICKING!

    You have the right frame of mind. Get off the couch and exercise. I have heard that yoga is great for losing weight. I personally have tried it and I hate it. I like aerobics and toning exercises better. But we all have our own likes and dislikes. If yoga works for you that is great. You kill two birds with one stone there. You get the exercise to lose weight and also you get to relax. That is the important thing seeing that you are so busy lately. At least you are taking time for you and that is great. We all have to remember ourselves in this.
    Keep up the great work and keep up the yoga.

    I am with you there also. I start on tuesday but no matter what I am going to have a loss. I am not going to let the water weight get in my way. I am doing extra exercise this week. I am working out twice a day. Getting my toning in in the morning and my aerobic type workout at night. To burn all of those calories I ate all day.LOL I hope it works. I am also sticking with my points and drinking my water.
    I also agree with you about one meal ruining your whole week. It isn't possible. As long as you get back on track the next day and stay that way for the remainder of the week. I always have my day off plan on friday and I still lose. It is when I continue eating and don't stop that I have a gain.LOL That is easy to do.
    Just stick with your plan this week sadiegirl and you will have a loss to. You can do this. I have lost during the weeks of TOM and you can to.

    That is great that your scale is back down. See we worry to much don't we? I am hoping not to gain over my vacation. But I will have to really work at it. I am bringing my measuring cups and my food scale with me so I can stay on track. I hope it works. If I set my mind to it like all of you we can do anything. We hold the power. We just forget that sometimes.

    I am so glad that you are pumped now about losing weight. That is the kind of attitude we need to succeed. You can do this. Just please don't be in a hurry to exercise right away. You will lose by sticking with the plan and drinking your water. You can do this. Let your body have the time it needs to heal before you jump back in. I know you are still too sore to exercise anyway right now. But remember to take care of you first and be healthy in all ways. You are going to get to goal and we are all going to be there cheering for you.

    I don't mind helping you out at all. I am here for you. Keep the questions coming. I like to be of help. That is what I am here for. I am here to help any of you if I can. Keep up the great attitude and you will definetly have a loss this week.

    You have to stop being so hard on yourself. Christy and I have decided that you need to be woke up. You are a great person and you put yourself down too much. You don't realize how special you are. You can do this. Don't let one meal ruin your whole week. You ate it so what. The world is not going to end and you can still have a loss this week. You have until thursday to make it up. I eat a ton of stuff on my day off plan and I still lose weight. You can to. Don't hold yourself back. Let your stars shine girl. WE are all rooting for you and we are going to be there when you cross that finish line and become a kops. Then we will be there to help you maintain that status also. You are a winner for not giving up. Exercise is great. See you are doing great and you don't even give yourself credit for that. You could have eaten that meal and said to heck with it and not even got in your exercise. But not you. You forged ahead and did your exercise.

    So tops off to you girl. You are heading in the right direction and you can do this. You have done it in the past and you can do it again. Use your great support team your hubby to help you. He wants to be there for you.

    Hang in there we are all behind you cheering you on and encouraging you. So think positive and throw away any negative thoughts. You will do this and we will help you.

    I did great today back on plan again for another week. I did 38 mins of buns of steal this morning and 30 min of my step and stand up aerobics. I ended the day with 24 pts. So I was very happy with that. I am eating more for breakfast so that I stay fuller longer and including more protein to make that happen.

    I am looking forward to tomorrow. I am going to be making a zuchinni soup either tomorrow or one day this week. That will be very low in points but I might add macaroni to it to have it for a meal.

    Have a great night everyone. I know that the weekend is the hardest for us all. Me included but we only have 1 more day to go. We can make it through then we will be on the homestretch to another loss.

    Lets be strong and make it through sunday on plan for the whole day. At the end of the day you can pat yourself on the back and say I did it and I am proud of me.

    One day at a time is what is going to get us to our goals.
