We're almost to March! Where does the time go?

Miz Cherry, it sounds like you've had some challenges lately. Nothing like a flooding basement to make your day. The next house we have will not have a basement. If it does, DH says he's calling in a cement truck to fill it up. Life sure does get in the way of our good fitness intentions, doesn't it?

I think you'd need to read Bleak House first to be able to understand what's going on. Dicken's books are usually too complex w/ too many story lines to cram into a tv production. Plus, they were trying to get very artsy w/ all the camera angles and such, which added to the confusion. I do tend to love a good Jane Austen story, though. I watched Sense and Sensibility yesterday evening, w/ Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant.

Kiwonk, Do you find it a bit surreal that the high school kids are using your former clothes as costumes for a play? It wasn't really that long ago was it?

I have no cat advice, Bagzie. You know I'm a dog person. Dogs will do just about anything for a Milkbone. What's the cat equivalent to Milkbones? Cat nip? I don't mind anyone telling me how adorable Kayden is, no matter how many times I hear it, so I had no problem w/ your repeating email.

Wabby, are you getting to see the little one every day or thereabouts? My SIL whose new grandbaby is 2 months lives about an hour away from them. I know it's just killing her not to see them all the time. This hasn't been the greatest winter for driving back and forth either (lot of ice). My nephew and his wife are both back to work now I think, doing different shifts. I know they had some babysitting holes to fill in, and SIL had wanted to help them out, but I don't think it worked out because of the drive.

I have to go to a school board meeting tonight. Whoopdedoo. I don't plan to open my mouth. Just be a body, supporting the performing arts contingent.

DD's show choir competition is 2 days from now. I haven't seen the performance yet. Yeah, it's weird to see her dragging out my old clothes, but she's been wearing stuff of mine for years. She actually outgrew the hip-hugger jeans I mentioned (in height, not girth). At least that's what she says. As skinny as she is, that doesn't seem possible.

Gotta go pretend to function normally as a human being.

Kiwi, my mom always said hang on to your old clothes...they all come back in fashion...like aren't those low rise jeans, our hip huggers? And Wedgie shoes are back from the 40s and 70s... and babydoll tops..aren't they our old tunic tops ? I'm waiting for elephant bell bottoms to come back... then I'd be stylin (if I lose 40 pounds )

That's the truth indeed, Schatzi. DD has always liked to beat a trend to the punch, and wearing 30 year old clothing seems to be one way to do it!

I am home all day and refuse to leave. My success is that I've done the squeaky wheel thing HOPEFULLY will have money to pay for all this school stuff. They advertise it as SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE then say they're waiting for the O.K. to give out the money. Time passes. I pay and get broker. More things to pay. More. and More. They still are waiting for the O.K. But I have written my congressman, the woman in charge of helping women students and the woman who deals with students in this program and they think they MAY be able to get money for MEEEEEEE. Just me. Only b*tchy old me. Fine.

Hi cowsies. I took yesterday off work and took beautiful roses to my sis who just had her eye surgery. It looks like it might take some time for recovery. Poor girl. Then I went to visit my darlin' Kayden. Her momma and I took her for her first stroll around the neighborhood. It was a beautiful sunny day and she slept through the entire walk. We scoped out the play structure at the park by their house. We have big plans.

Sugar, your baby can't possibly be a teenager. Wasn't he just a preschooler yesterday? Back in the messies days?

Today is Vocal Jazz Fest Day!!! I get to see the show choir performance for the first time tonight. I've tried to go to a few rehearsals but something has always happened, like yesterday when they finished over an hour early. Anyway, I am working as a Door Monster all afternoon and evening. They don't allow anyone through the doors to the auditorium during any school's performance, so they need door monsters to monitor them. Won't that be fun? I'll let you know how it goes...

I've been busy interviewing all morning /afternoon... waiting on a telephone interview now.. and more of the same tomorrow... while this gets me back to honing my charming interviewing skills --none of these jobs appeal to me.. some are tooooo hard and will make my brain work toooooooooooo much...others are just demanding tooooooo much ... and as an ex-HR person, some of the questions they've asked are downright borderline illegal or leave me dumbfounded:

how the **** do you respond to : We need someone to bring some New York energy to this project- and so tell us about how you can bring that?..

WHAT THE **** DOES THAT MEAN?? Ifelt like I shoulda slipped into my heavy bronx axcent and slapped him upside the head...

it seems to me you are all *****ing so I am gonna join. Yesterday and other recent days people are annoying me too oooo ooo much. I had to go get fingerprinted. I've never had decent fingerprints and when I worked for a bank years ago they made me get fingerprinted at least four times before they gave up. So here I go to get fingerprinted for the school system and the same problem. The woman doing this (sequined top with two sequins missing on left shoulder) said, "This happens when you get older. Your fingerprints wear off." She said THAT several times. Let me paraphrase: "You are an old bat and you are wearing away." I went home and looked on the net and found that this defect is hereditary OR caused by hard work. In fact, there's some high number (40 percent ???) of the Most Wanted People in the world who have these fingerprints because they wore them down, I guess, not because they're OLD. The article said that even if they were in custody, it's unlikely anyone would know from the fingerprints.

and this program is supposed to have financial aid and they have come up with some for ME but that woman has said to me SEVERAL TIMES, "I went over there and groveled." Do you use grovel in your speech? Anyhow after hearing this 6 times, I said, "I think I'm the one who's groveling." Later, I emailed her thanking her for her efforts and apologizing if it put her in an uncomfortable situation. But isn't GROVELING a negative kind of word to use in reference to a plan that's promised by the school and not fulfilled unless one GROVELS?

Then there's the mechanic. DS drove his car in working fine. Got an oil change. Drove out not working fine. They wanted to charge him $69.95 to check this out on their computer. Computer: thing you plug into the engine, hold in your hand, and look at. I told them to give him back his car as our other mechanic did this computer thing FOR FREE. They did. He took it to a 3rd mechanic who fixed it for a decent price that did not include $69.95 computer looking at. Plus, the first mechanic would not accept his check. He was insulted.

Ok, that's about it. Is Bagz's floor up? Is kitty safe? Can Kiwi make DH stuff envelopes? Does Shots have a pin-striped suit and violin case for the next interview with these jerks? Has Sugarette taken on proper teenage attitudes like rolling eyes?

Must go. Cash register awaits.

Hmmmm. I'm trying to get in the spirit around here and b*tch about something. Let me think..... sun is shining, it's friday, I have a new granddaughter, I have fun plans w/ a couple girlfriends tomorrow, my house is somewhat clean, my husband is on my good list lately, ..... geez.
