sonoma and exercise

  • Morning,
Another quick question before I pay international shipping fees for a hard cover book! I do moderate/high cardio for an hour, 5-6 times a week and weights. (Yes, I have managed to convince myself that I am a gym junkie. I live in a conservative country in the middle east-not much else to do!) I read the sticky where it says very few pages talk about exercise. I was wondering how people who exercise every day are feeling on this plan? Thanks

  • I exercise 5 days a week (includes free weights and elliptical) and I feel fine on Sonoma. I think it is because you are allowed enough carbs and complex carbs to keep you going. I'm sure that Linda will chime in, as she is the Sonoma exercise queen
  • I work out 70-90 minutes 5-6 days a week and I feel fine. The lack of mention of exercise is my MAJOR beef with this book. We all must exercise regulary for heath. Eating right just isn't enough.

keep up with the exercise. You are doing wonderfully. Come join us on the exercise sticky at the top of the forum!
  • Hi there! I am also a regular exerciser and generally feel great. I normally do moderate-intense cardio 4-5 times a week for 40-60 minutes at a time. I also work out with dumbbells 3 times a week for about an hour each time. I think the Sonoma Diet allows for enough protein, fat, and complex carbs that it works well with an active lifestyle. Those times that I felt more hungry, I ate more Tier 1 vegetables and was generally satisfied.
  • I love the diet and I now exercise quite a bit.

However, I did modify the diet to allow more whole grains when exercising a lot as I didn't have the energy otherwise. However my energy levels are off the wall now.
