  • I just started the WW Online program. I was just wondering if anyone else is doing it as well?? I am a recovering Lifetimer and find the online version keeps me really inline. I love journaling my points ... thanks, Terry
  • What is ww online? Is different from 3fatchicks, dottis weight loss, etc. Is that the address for it?
  • Go to the Weight Watchers site and you can learn all about it:
    http://www.weightwatchers.com/mywwpr...ine_tour_1.asp
  • W W on Line
W W on line program costs about the same as a weekly meeting. It is through the official W W web site.
  • I am considering joining WW Online, but I have a few questions that maybe you could answer, Terry.

I took the online tour and I didn't find it that helpful! For instance, do I have access to the new Food Companion and Dining Out Guide? Is it printable? Do you get weekly materials like we did in the meetings? Do you think it's worth the money?

Also, I'm living in Malaysia. Do I have to have an American address to get it?

Lots of questions! Hope you can help. I love WW when I lived in Canada, I've really missed the meetings and the accountability.

    Thanks, Jodie
  • I have been considering doing the online along with the weekly meeting. I dont mind spending the money if i will get positive results. I would like to see how people like it first. I am going to ask at my next meeting if any one has tried it.

I am looking for a online buddy if anyone is interesting
I have aol, yahoo, and msn instant messaging or u can email me at [email protected]

lost 36 pounds in 14 weeks got 29 more to go to goal weight
  • Works for me!
Terry already knows me from the 10# at a time thread but for the rest of you - I joined WW online 4 weeks ago. At my weigh in last Mon. I was down 8# so far. I find it very helpful to journal my food online. I end every day by logging in my food and then jumping over to 3fc for motivation. I think you can sign up for the etools if you attend meetings, but I don't know the cost. WW online is cheaper than regular meetings. It's $49 for three months, so for 12 weeks you pay a little over $4 a week. Each week your "home" page changes and there is a progress chart where you can see your weight going down. They automatically renew you on a month to month basis, so you have to notify them if you want to quit. But I plan on continuing!

    Gini
  • Gini or anyone,
I am currently subscribed to e-tools. I stopped the meetings for awhile and was wondering if e-tools is just like ww online? I would really like to finish up e-tools and join ww online if the online would be better. Thanks so much.
    Terri
  • Hello everyone -- Gini, Comteacher, Points, Runner, Lighter, LilyG & Busdriver!! Sorry I have not responded sooner -- I seem to be running every which way lately.

I am still a "newbie" where WW Online is concerned so if I give the wrong info, please correct me! Like Gini, I have been doing WW Online for only two weeks but so far I love it.

    With WW Online you can:

    1) Journal your daily points and keep track of everything -- food, water, exercise, etc -- day by day, month by month. You can even record daily notes in a special section. They offer an online food data base (similiar to Diet Watch but dealing with points) and an online points calculator. It's everything you would get with the e-tools package including charts , graphs, etc. You also have access to a recipe data base and can plan and record all your meals as well.

    2) In addition, you receive a personal home page with useful tips and such. Of course, they have their own message boards which you can access without being a WW member. I have to admit, it's a great source of info 24/7.

    3) According to a recent email I received from WW Customer Service, the restaurant info is incorporated into the points data base. However, I am still not positive this contains all the info in the "Dining Out" companion booklets you would receive at a meeting. I am not positive they understood my question.

    4) Customer Service also said you can print a listing of the data base to take with you -- I have not had the time to check that out yet as I just opened my email.

WW Online is just another feature to the Weight Watcher family geared towards people who do not like to attend meetings (as myself) or who cannot attend meetings for whatever reason. It's less expensive than the weekly meetings but you do not have the face-to-face communication from a qualified leader. Some WW leaders are superb, some are not --- some people need that interaction, some do better without it. It's really what works for you and what you are most comfortable with.

I am trying it for the three months -- I believe the price is $59.95 (they ran a special $10 savings offer if you signed up before June 30th), and is something like $14.95 a month thereafter. As Gini said, they automatically sign you up for each month unless you notify them otherwise. There is no contract to sign, and you can cancel at anytime.

I would suggest going to Weightwatchers.com and browse through the message boards -- you'll get a lot more info than what I have presented here. They also offer a "tour" which I though was a bit confusing as it really doesn't state that with WW online you get everything that e-tools offers -- I had to call the 1-800 # to find answers!

Comteacher and anyone else --- come on over to "10 Pounds At A Time" and join our support group --- just jump right in! So far I have lost 35 lbs --- 30 since using online support -- and even though I have a bunch more to lose, I would never have gotten this far without 3 fat chicks and weight watchers.

I hope I have answered everything --- good luck and if you sign-up let me know how you are doing --- I also post on the "Recovering Lifetimers" thread over at WW but you don't have to be a lifetime member to do so --- again, jump right in!

    Take care!!! Terry

  • Thanks Terry.
I might let my e-tools expire and join on-line.
    Terri
  • Thanks, Terry, for taking the time to post such a detailed and helpful reply. I think I will join... if I wait for WW to come to Malaysia, I could be waiting a long time. The general population here is about a size 1!!

    Jodie
  • Thinking about joining
    Hi everyone,

I have been considering joining WW online. How is it working for all of you? I haven't tried WW in a long time. I used to find it difficult to keep track of. It seems to be easier now. I am looking to lose about 40lbs or so.

    Paula
  • To Jodie who lives in the land of tiny women ..... you are welcome and good luck on your journey!

Paula, Weight Watchers has changed dramatically over the last decade. I love the online program personally as it is now so much easier to feep track of your progress and thus keep better focused on your overall goal. Good luck to you also!

    Terry
  • This is such a helpful thread! I mostly just lurk around the message boards but wanted to reply here. I am in the process of selling my house & moving (we have had the new one for a couple of months so we are keeping up with 2 yards) as well as a garden and I find no time to go to meetings anymore at all. On top of that I haven't done very well with my food management either! I'm finding it so hard to stay on task with WW with everything else going on in my life so maybe WW online is just what I need!

    Thanks for your input.
    Rebecca
  • Rebecca -- sounds like you have a full plate with obviously little time for yourself! Why don't you just try WW Online for 3 months -- if you don't like it, you'll only be out $60 -- the cost of one night out on the town (but without the calories!) But if you do like it, and you find out it was just the jumpstart you needed, then won't you be glad you took the chance??

Good luck on your houses, the gardens, the yard, and your dieting program -- whew, like I said you are one busy lady!

    Always, Terry
