Ketosis Strips

  • I was just wondering if anyone bought these and used them during induction? I've been thinking about it because I'm just one of those I wanna make sure type of person.
  • I did, I used them for about 2 weeks...then quit. It was the right colour, and I was loosing weight. The only real indication I needed was seeing the scale go down, not the purple stick. But thats just my opinion....I did buy them, out of curiousity, and to just be sure I was doing it right. I still have some left if you dont want to spend the $$, I'll mail them to you if you want.
  • they aren't always accurate. some people lose loads of weight and the strips never show being in ketosis....you can tell if you have bad breath and such...
  • See I don't think I have the bad breathe or anything. I lost the first nine pounds like whamo, and now I haven't in a couple days. It's just my OCD showing through.

  • I've never used them. And I never had the bad breath but heard about that. Don't get discouraged Audrey you're doing great!! Keep up the great work!!
  • Audrey, I used them and thought they were great. I was pretty sure I was in ketosis, but being the paranoid person I am, I wanted to know for sure. Every time I used the strip and it turned the right color, it made me feel more confident that I was doing everything right. And if I slipped up a little and ate some carbs, I could find out if it kicked me completely out of ketosis or whatever and I could do what I needed to get back on track. After a while I just kind of quit using them because I learned to know my body and what it was doing better... I'll still use them once in a great while.

    I think they are a great tool and highly recommend them. By the way, I never had the bad breath or anything when I was in ketosis.

    Just remember, you don't have to use them every time you pee or even every day. I know you're a little OCD (like me), but you don't need to go overboard.

  • I am doing the Core diet on Weight Watchers and I have lost 6.5lbs in 3 weeks. I am a little upset I thought I would have lost more because I am so young, I am 20, but I guess the good thing is that I have lost inches and my clothes are fitting better. I also work out and I am supper excited because I think my body started to go through ketosis today because I got that awful taste in my mouth. I was really into eating right and working out in high school and constantly had that taste in my mouth, it made me feel great because i knew my body was losing weight. If anyone else knows alot about this please let me know because everywhere I read says something different.
