Ok, I was curious, so I went to the American Heart Association, and here is a snippet of
what they say about dietary cholesterol:
Quote:
American Heart Association recommends that you limit your average daily cholesterol intake to less than 300 milligrams. If you have heart disease, limit your daily intake to less than 200 milligrams. Still, everyone should remember that by keeping their dietary intake of saturated fats low, they can significantly lower their dietary cholesterol intake. Foods high in saturated fat generally contain substantial amounts of dietary cholesterol.
So there we are! For the record, 4 large eggs contain 304 calories, 20.47 grams of fat (6.33 of them saturated) and 868.3 grams of cholesterol. Yikes! Thank God for egg whites, that's all I have to say.
Thanks for this opportunity to learn.
