  • Okay, so here's the story. I'm starting this thread for the week, but won't be posting at the end of it. Also, I'm going to need someone to start it up again for the next couple of weeks as I'm leaving on vacation on Friday. I've promised the family that I'll stay away from computers (perhaps I'll sneak into a library a couple of times and log in while they're out seeing the sights ). I trust nobody will take advantage of my absence ~ so many of you are doing so well!!

    0 - spinach salad with sliced mushrooms and tomatoes
    2 - hard boiled egg (chopped into salad)
    1 - light basalmic vinaigrette

    1 - Astro fat free sugar free raspberry yogurt

    7 - Pita from "Extreme Pita" *
    1 - watermelon
    Snack
    2 - banana
    2 - 1c 1% milk
    21 total (1 under target)

    * whole wheat pita, filled with grilled chicken, grilled mushrooms, green peppers and onions, lettuce, tomato, hot peppers, green olives, salsa

    Beverages: 1 large mug of tea with breakfast, 2 500ml bottles of spring water (one during each dog walk), 3 large glasses of water from water cooler at work, 2 cans club soda during the day at work, 1 litre carbonated mineral water after badminton, 1 large mug of tea now before going to bed.

    Exercise: two 20 minute walks with the dog (morning and evening). 1-1/2hr. league badminton play (its playoffs, so I'm playing 3 times this week instead of Tuesday only).
  • Late checking in as DH was hogging the computer today and I can't use mine to log on the internet because he hasn't fixed our internet sharing network yet.
    Anyway, here my entry for today...
    July 25, 2005
    Lovely DH let me sleep in today so slept through breakfast and started my day with brunch. Still went over on calories today though!!!

    Brunch: BBQ-Salsa Tuna on romaine and leaf lettuces with soycheese

    D: 2 Turkey soft shell tacos with 3 c lettuce and 1/4 c salsa; 1.5 c low fat pasta salad

    S: 3 'smores; 8 oz peanutbutter-banana smoothie
    ****Total Calories=2438****

    Exercise: 8 Minute Moves (worked back and chest today); 1 mile run (12 minutes running today! Cool down of 3 minutes walking and 5 minutes stretching)
  • Okay... I haven't been posting on this thread for the last few days because I upgraded my OS on the 'puter, and it's taking me a while to reset my preferences for all my favourite proggies (including Excel which is where I record all my food). Is that a good enough excuse, Jill?

    I've been OP though, including doing WATP DVDs and free-weight strength training, and I'm hoping it'll be reflected on the scale in the morning. Assuming I ever get to bed tonight....

    I'll get back to posting my eats and stuff tomorrow after I've been to...

    A Taste of Edmonton.
    Banking on the 6 Ps, I've already picked out some healthy(ish) choices, so it's just a matter of sticking to the plan. Easy, right? Right??

    It'll be quite a test for me, both from the food-restraint point of view and the OCD which is problematic when I'm confronted with people. BUT, I'm feeling good enough to give it a whirl with hubby's support, and the bonus is I'll get a good 5 mile walk just getting there and back.

    Breakfast: mini-wheats & 1% milk
    Lunch: Granola Bar & Smoothie (strawberries, blueberries, 1% milk & dry pudding mix)
    Dinner: Breaded Fish, raviolis & mushrooms & onions
    Snacks: carrots sticks, sunflower seeds
    Drinks: 1/4 diet cola, water

    kcal: 1706

    I get a day OFF tomorrow (from my "job" the kids ) - I'm going shopping and to dinner with my best friend! I'm very excited!
  • I'm here too! I've been doing ok, I lost 2 lbs last week. My exercise is going well. I really like Yoga and that's something that I've always told myself I could never do - another myth destroyed.

    Yesterday's food was nothing special, pretty much what I eat these days when I don't have any time. Today I actually went down to our cafeteria and ordered an egg white omlet w/one slice of american cheese! It was a big deal for me, I'd been eating too many hard boiled egg whites.

    Anyway, here's yesterday:

    2 - coffee
    1 - egg whites
    3 - Luna bar
    5 - Zone bar
    2 - granola
    2 - coffee
    3 - can of tuna
    2 - lite mayo
    3 - ww bread
    23 points

    Plus - 45mins on the eliptical machine and the leg machines

  • Yesterday was a strange day. At lunch, I was at the cafeteria getting a slice of veggie pizza and a bowl of vegetable soup, and sloshed some soup over my hand. Leaving my food there, I went to the bathroom to run cold water over it. Darn historical buildings -- no cold water, just tepid. By this time the shock had worn off and I was tearing up. I went to four bathrooms to find cold water. Finally just went to the snack bar in the other building, got a sandwich and chips and a cold Diet Vanilla Pepsi, and went back to my office. Held the cold soda against my hand most of the rest of the afternoon.

    MONDAY

    Breakfast:
    banana (pre-commute)
    cottage cheese
    plums

    Lunch:
    chicken salad sandwich
    low-fat potato chips

    Afternoon snack to keep the Beast at bay:
    whole wheat toast w/ cheddar cheese melted on it


    Dinner:
    chicken breast in salsa
    zucchini, tomato, eggplant melange

    Snacks:
    potato crisps (like Pringles, only Lays)

    Drinks:
    coffee w/ flavored creamer
    diet soda
    water

    Calories:
    about 1700

    Exercise:
    stairs, blocks (not as many today due to weather)

    Some very nice entries, too ~ good work people! Ali, I'll accept your excuses THIS TIME and must tell you that when I met up with Sandi, Boiaby and Jiffypop in Chicago last year, we went to Taste of Chicago and behaved beautifully, so I expect the same from you! I wonder if Alligator on a Stick will be at Taste of Edmonton?

    That was a disturbing incident with the soup, synger! Hope your hand didn't blister and is back to normal today.

    Congrats on the 2lb. loss, Beth, and for being a yoga mythbuster!

    Have fun on your day off, Alpha-Laura. Shopping and dinner with a friend sounds like fun ... just stay away from the desserts, okay?

    I'm confused, Omega-Laura! How could what you listed possibly total 2438 calories! Other than the s'mores, everything else looked pretty low cal/fat

    It was the peanutbutter and chocolate that put me over. Not only did I have 1.5 TBS in my smoothie, I ate another 2 TBS off the spoon as I was making the smoothies That comes to about 340 calories right there.
    Plus I used 1 whole milk chocolate bar for my 'smores so there's another 210 calories.

    B: 1 c Kashi GoLean Crunch with 1 c soymilk and 1/4 c raisins

    L: 1 1/4 graham crackers

    D: 6 oz grilled chicken breast; 2 c romaine and leaf lettuces with 1/4 c salsa and 2 TBS BBQ sauce; 2 mini corn dogs (A weakness of mine, proud of myself for only having 2); 1 1/2 c steamed broccoli (no salt, no butter); 1 1/4 c steamed baby carrots (no salt, no butter); 1 c low-fat chicken herb flavored couscous (2 grams fat per 1 c serving and the fat is from olive oil so it's 'good fat')

    S: 6 Low-fat Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies Each cookie has 43 calories, .7 grams of fat and 9 gram carbs. And yes they do taste good!
    ****Total Calories=1564****

    Exercise: 5 minutes running in place; 8 Minute Moves; 20 minutes of Circuit Training

    I still have calories to spare as I skimped on lunch as I wasn't all that hungry, so I may have a snack later. If so I'll update my post.
  • Hey All! I had such a fun day off! Spent hours shopping at the mall and enjoying girl talk with my best friend - such a GREAT day!!

    Breakfast/Lunch (slept in): mini-wheats & 1% milk
    Dinner: Mexican Restaurant - chicken fajitas (chicken, onion, green pepper, 2 tortillas, guacamole, pico de gallo), refried beans, rice, tortilla chips, sangria
    Snacks: granola bar, carrots
    Drinks: (besides above mentioned Sangria), Strawberry julius, water

    kcal: 2343 (not bad considering!)

    Exercise: 3 hours shopping at the mall! Plus, dancing with my little man - he's quite a good dancer at 14 months!
  • Hmm...not exactly sure what I will have all day today. I know what I am SUPPOSED to have, but I thought there was leftover goodies from yesterday's office party, so I didn't pack most of my food thinking there would be food here. WRONG! No free food to be found. I suppose that's good, since I wouldn't know the calories or content of all the foods anyway. However, now all I have packed is a container of fruit (pineapple, frozen peaches, and frozen strawberries). So here is what I am guessing for today:
    • sausage and cheese omelette
    • fruit
    • salad
    • turkey burger patty w/mashed cauliflower (at Ruby Tuesday)
    I also have to confess an adjustment to yesterday's eats because of said office party. It actually ended up being more like:
    • sausage omelette
    • chicken and 3 bites of salad
    • piece of yellow cake w/icing, cucumber sticks and dip, about 10 "beer" bread cubes (made with Coke instead of beer) with dip, about 5 white bread chunks with crab dip, small scoop of pasta salad (about 5 bites worth)
  • Well, yesterday was a total bust for me! We had a major transaction to be completed and I ended up working from 9 a.m. until almost 2 a.m.! Needless to say, the only exercise I got was walking my doggy in the morning before work and sweating bullets with the stress of working on the deal. I had a decent Kashi breakfast and brought a healthy lunch and snack to work, but it all went to pot once I discovered there was no way I would be making my way home for hours and hours. Food was being ordered in for us on the hour and I pretty much nibbled all night long (I think I ate my last piece of sushi at 1:30 a.m.). Yep, between the hours of 5 p.m. and almost 2 a.m. I consumed pizza, fried rice, full-fat caesar salad, sushi, a Tim's Horton's "fruit explosion" muffin and several coffees (with cream). Ugh, I feel utterly yucky today. At least I managed to get all my water in between feedings, I guess that's something. Boy, I can't wait until my vacation starts on Friday....
