New, and need a buddy :)

  • Hi, I just found these message boards today, and just need help.

I'm 23 years old, and weigh around 260 lbs. I wear a (tight) size 20, and am just tired of it.

I've always been overweight, and I am at the biggest I've ever been. I'd like to get down to a size 14. I know with the way I'm built, I'll never be really skinny, and I'm ok with that. I just want to be healthy, and down to a size where I can buy clothes in a regular store, and not have to go to a Lane Bryant type place. When I graduated high school, I wore a dress to my graduation that was a size 14, and thats my goal. To be able to fit into that dress. I weighed somewhere between 180 and 190. But the # weight isn't a huge issue for me. Its the clothing size I want to work toward.

Anyway, if anyone wants to 'buddy up' with me, I'd really appreciate it! I'm on yahoo (elizzabethg) and AOL (luzzy16).

I have a lot of the weight watchers point system info, so I'm going to try doing that again.

  • lets be buddies
HI Lizzy, I just started dieting yesterday. I weigh 138 lbs. and I know what you mean about the clothes size. I would LOVE to get to a size 14. I did weight watchers a long time ago. I am only going to work at it for the month of June. I figure one month out of my life is not going to kill me to be stricked with my eating habits. Ya know they say it only takes 21 day to pick up a new habit. So I give myself a month, and who knows what July will bring.

Start with small goals. just 5 lbs. at a time. I know they say not to weigh yourself everyday, but I have to. I have to see results. So I posted my weight on the fridge so EVERYONE can see. ANd they will see the loss too, thats what I'm excited about! Before I would not say anything about me being on a diet, that way if I fail nobody would know but me. Now I am telling everyone. I'm hoping it will make it harder to fall off the wagon. I'm sorry I could type all day about my FAT problems. I'll tell more as time goes on.

I HAVE TO STOP EATING AT NIGHT UGH!!!!!
  • I understand the need to stop eating at night, I do the same thing, and I think that is where I get in trouble. In the morning, and at lunch its fairly easy. When I'm at work I can pretty much only eat what I bring, unless my co workers and I go out to lunch (which I usually only buy something sweet, because no $$). Its when I get home that I crash, and eat too much. And eat too late. My boyfriend and I usually eat dinner really late, and then on top of that I'll have a snack before and after dinner.

And yeah, I hear ya, I could go on all day about my weight issues too!
