My Funny.... after the Gym

  • a little background first... or foreplay to the story i am a misplaced Michigander, having met (5 years ago), moved (last year), and married (6 months after the move) a man native to Austria.

also it had been years since i worked out. had an accident back in "99" which shut the door for me for quite awhile. dabbled here and there in hopes of establishing a routine once again. ( the gym at one time had been a very important part of my life.) but nothing solid until this past January when i treated myself to a membership!

so here's what happened to me my first day outta the gate.........

i'm huffin, i'm puffin, i'm pushin and liftin. i made my plan and stickin to it! i was shocked at how weak i got! i couldnt believe it. i could feel the burn so bad by the time i finished my last set of reps it wasnt funny. i didnt go into this Blonde. i knew there would be repercussions from not working out for so long........ but jiminies!

when i came home i was so beat and tired. i pinged ( puter term for messaged) my hubby to see what his day looked like and when he would be home for lunch and of course.......... whine a lil and get some soothing sympathy love and what does that darling sweet Man do but start laughing at me!!

boyyyyyyyyyyy this was not the response i had expected! the meanie ......so i ask him whats so funny? and he re-enlightens me on weights & measurements. i am still to tired to comprehend what he is saying ....... finally it dawns on me..... i wasnt lifting Pounds but lifting Kilo's! here i am beating myself up mentally and physically and thinkin what a wimp i have become.

it just never occured to me. i had gotten in there and it looks so much like a Gym at home but with different words.

    sincerely,
sassy who has had her First Official Blonde Moment of the Year!!
  • @ Blonde Sassy !!
  • Sassy!

That's quite impressive that you were able to lift what you did in kilos, though! That's 2.2 times what you were doing before
  • Funny! I actually only recently figured out why 10 pounds hand weights in my gym are different - we have ones like plastic covered which say 10 pounds on them and we have metal with number 10 on them. I always wondered why metals are HEAVIER than plastic covered ones and recently found out that under 10 on metals in small print it says 2.5kg on one side and 2.5 kg on the other one. Hence it makes up to 5 kg which is MORE than 10 pounds! He-he!
  • Kilo Konversions Kan Kill!!!

    ifn you dont Kalculate Korrectly......
