I was SO GOOD on phase I. I didn't cheat at all, except for one night where I had a little too much wine. Did I lose a ton? **** no. The book says expect to lose 8 to 13 pounds in the first two weeks. I lost 5, 4 of which were in the first week.
Nevertheless, I went on to Phase II. I was losing, just not very fast. A half pound here, a quarter pound there. After 4 weeks on the diet, the husband and I decided that we needed a little break. So what did we do? Drank WAY too much on Friday night - I even had half a beer, and about 3,245,623 glasses of wine. We ended up sharing a glass of champagne over a slice of chocolate-walnut-rum torte, complete with ice cream on the side.
The next night, I didn't feel like cooking, so we ordered a pizza. And more wine, of course!
I get up this morning, my official weigh-in day, and tentatively step on the scale. What would it say? Did I gain back ALL the weight (mmmm... that pizza was GOOD).
No. I'm THREE POUNDS DOWN.
Color me boggled. I don't understand this diet at all. Does this mean that every saturday night I should order pizza?!?

without the faithful part and there is no paradox!

grrrrr....All things in moderation has to be my motto to keep losing
I'm overjoyed at the weight loss, but how frustrating is it that when you overindulge, you lose, when I underindulge, I lose, but when we eat right, not much happens!
