Hello...

  • Hi..
    Just wanted to say hello..just joined today..i need to lose the last 20 of 120 pounds..i started at 220..now i'm at 140..i'm only 5'2..so every pound looks bad..i run 4 miles a day 6 days a week and lift weights 5 days a week..had to take a month off..i pulled a calf muscle..so i just started back running yesterday..maybe now with calorie counting and running i'll be able to finally lost this last bit of weight...

  • Wow Vanessa, that's amazing! I started at 210 and am now down to 175. When I started I was swimming and eating healthy. Then I went through a three month period of just eating healthy but not working out. Now I'm back to working out. My goal weight is 150 so I have about 25 lbs to go. I'm also training for a triathlon on July 30. Last year I swam a 1/4 mile in a triathlon team and this July I'm going to try to do the whole thing.

    I'd love to hear all about your success and workouts. Maybe we could check in with each other, compare notes and cheer each other on. I regularly post on a couple other sites which have really given me support. Take care.
  • Hi Vanessa and Tiredoffat! You both are a lot futher than I am but we have similar goals. I am 200lb (5'9) and would like to be at 150. I used to run and lost a lot of weight, winter came around and it was an excuse not to go outside. Here I am, two years later at the same weight I was to begin with! I started powerwalking this week because my knees just can't handle this weight while running but I can't wait to get back to running. It is really something that I enjoy.

    I'm not really following a "program" per say...maybe more of SBD than anything but I'm just trying to find something that I can live with.

    I'd love to be your buddy if ya'll (from Texas) will have me.

    I just joined 3FC a couple days ago and have been reading all the different posts looking for people with similar goals and such. You all are where I'd like to be too! I started at 225 and have been trying to firmly stay below 200 for a couple weeks now so I started running about twice a week. My goal is around 165 (I'm 5'9 also) which I'd like to reach for the summer. Do you have any tips for beginning runners? Someday I'd really like to do a roadrace or triathalon as well. I'd love to check in with you all since this is such a big motivator! Have a good night
