Newbie on maintenance

  • Hi,
I'm new here, trying to recover from Thanksgiving and 5 days of leftover fallout. We had 10 people come from out of town to stay with us. They left behind possibly thousands of points in leftovers. I finally threw out the last of it to save myself from eating it, but not without racking up a 3-4 pound gain this week.

I lost all of my weight on the flexpoints plan and whatever the points plan was called before that, but I'm hoping that by trying the core plan for a few weeks it will give me the focus to get back to goal. I had crept up a pound or so each of the past few months, so I am now about 10 pounds over goal.

So far today is going well (meaning that I just ate a pound of carrots instead of the bag of chocolate chips I really wanted).

I am planning my shopping list for the week so that I have some REAL core food options. Headed to the recipe section...
  • Welcome Mastiffmama from a Scottie Mom! Check out www.barbosdietkitchen.com for some fabulous Core recipes. I cook from her recipes daily. Search on Core and you'll be reading for hours. Also, come visit us on the Core support board. There are some incredible women there....no meaness like I've seen on some of the WW boards.

Good Luck! You could be back to goal in no time with Core.
  • Well while eating carrots is more healthy than eating chocolate chips 1 pound could still be considerd a bit excessive even in healthy eating. I commend you though for eating the carrots.

Good luck in your endeavors and any help please ask.
  • LOL to the carrots. I was stress eating.

I have to say, I have been doing the core program since Saturday and I feel like I am cheating. I am sure I would be really high if I were counting points - lots of dairy (FF pudding, FF yogurt) and oatmeal. On the weekend I pretty much grazed all day. At work I can't do that, so maybe I'll be closer to the "eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full" idea. But I don't feel like I can possibly lose this way!
