30-Something's New Year's Challenge!!

  • OK Ladies, I think the Halloween Challenge helped some of us get motivated. We've got 8 wks. til New Year's Day, let's make the most of it!

    Lauren (LBH)
    Goal: No Fast Food!
Strategy: Keep healthy snacks around, (in the car), so I'm not tempted!

Like last time, post your goals here and I'll make a list and update it each week on Saturday or Sunday.
  • Hey! Another challenge! 8 weeks til New Years??? Oh my! Although I did not make my Halloween goal (175), yesterday I was at 177.5! All of a sudden! I guess exercising eventually does work!

Goal #1: Make it to the 160s. I will be happy to see the other side of the holidays at 169 even.
Goal #2: Use the bowflex 2 times per week.
Goal #3: Maintain my current running efforts, water, portion control, etc.

  • I think realisticly I would like to be at or break 200.

Goal 1: No Snacks - this will be hard cause we are coming up on finals - woo woo.

Goal 2: Try and get to the gym! - This is also a great de-stresser!

Goal 3: Don't eat as many carbs! I love carbs
  • First, I can't believe New Year's is in 8 weeks!

My goal is to make it to the 170's and then to maintain through the holidays.

  • Well, I might as well get in on the challenge too. Here are my goals.

    - To lose 10 lbs by New Years (I'll try to keep it modest)
    - To drink 6 glasses of water a day
    - To never let potato chips pass my mouth

Whew, that sounds pretty big, but I think I can do it!
  • HA! I've been soo nutty busy I forgot to update this thread last week! I'm sorry guys, I'll try and make a point of updating it Sunday! Warning though...we're actually planning to move this weekend...like officially!
  • Take your time, cause I have not done JACK toward this challenge!
  • Mind if I join?

    My goals are:

    1) Join Curves.
    2) Only sugar-free treats, and only a few of those.
    3) Start drinking more water than tea.
    4) Lose four more pounds, putting me in One-derland! (I'm not setting myself up for a huge disappointment, lol!)
  • Hi Talisman, welcome to 30-something's. Unfortunately I've kind of dropped the ball on this challenge, but feel free to be accountable and update us on your progress every week!

I'm new to the 3FC site....I've lost app. 12 lbs. of fat since April and have around 6 lbs. left to go...At 19% BF and want to drop to 15% (was in the high 20's to start). If I get to 15% before losing the last few lbs. of scale weight I'm happy with that too. Just now fitting in a size 4 pant and my pant goal is to be able to fit in a size 2 or a loose size 4....These are my first goals! Hope to reach these goals by the new year or at least narrow the gap to my goals...
  • Hi Julie, welcome to 30-Somethings! Sounds like you've done an awesome job! Do you mind me asking what your starting weight was, and how tall you are?
