  • Good morning

Dianne is basking under the sun in Puerto Rico. Is Linda still in WDW? Hope they're having a great time on their respective vacations!

Wanted to join WW Online, but was disappointed to see the price up to $17...after searching a bit, found a website that directed me to a special fee of $15 if you're a BC/BS healthcare member. In spite of having different healthcare, I tried it and it allowed me to join for the lower price so I'm officially back on WW, at least online.

I gained back 2 pounds but am pretty sure it was due to the party on Saturday..the margaritas were flowing among other things. I'm still down a total of 10 for June and July.

    have a good Monday!
    ~Jen
  • Hi all,
Really quick since I am at work, I stayed the same for this week. Better than a gain.

    -Janie
  • Janie, I really don't have a problem with staying the same. Once I move I'm getting very serious! One day at a time right?

Jen, what's BC/BS heathcare? I have Vytra. The 2 lbs. is probably water. I'm stuck at 191. But I had chinese food Saturday.

I had a good day today. I wasn't as hungry for some reason. I'm going to the WW site to check out the prices. They should leave it at $15.

    Hugs,
    Es
  • Es,
BC/BS is blue cross/blue shield. I didn't know if they would ask for an i.d. #, but they didn't, so that was cool.
Have had a good day. Yesterday Joe picked a ton of cucumbers so that accompanied lunch and dinner.

    Janie,
    good job, that's not easy.

I've discovered that one of my pitfalls is the mindset I've developed over the last couple of years..."oh, I deserve this after all these years of working hard, raising the kids, etc., etc., etc., " and then I allow myself to totally wreck an otherwise great day by going overboard.
I've got to carefully plan rewards based on losses!

am going to watch some of the convention.

    later,
    ~Jen
  • I swear I posted earlier and it disappeared. Maybe I only thought I clicked on submit.

How is everyone? I've been so busy with school and everything that I haven't been spending much time on the computer.

I see you have started another challenge. I'm jumping in on this one. Labor day is less than 6 weeks away, so I'm only trying for 10 lbs. I'll weigh tomorrow and report to you guys on where I'm at.

JANIE, thank you for adding Dylan to the prayer list at church. They took him to a pediatric neurologist last week. I haven't talked with his mom (she has no phone) but my other daughter told me that it appears that he was born with a section of his brain missing. The cyst seems to have grown in place of the missing section. It appears that they are not going to do anything about it. They say that the cyst is not growing. The doctor took Dylan off of the anti-seizure medicine. They don't think that the cyst caused the seizure. that is all I know for now, I have a tons of questions, hopefully I will talk to
Chasity soon and I'll learn more.

Well, I've got to study for a test tonight. I hope everyone is doing great, talk to you tomorrow.

    Ruth
  • Morning,

Well, I promised to report back in. I'm at 184.8 lbs. So, my goal is to reach 174.8 (or less) by Labor Day.

I'm going to make this short, I've got some studying to do. I should finish out the summer with at least 2 A's and 1 B. If I study enough for the final I may actually pull off 3 A's. Wish me luck!!

    Ruth
  • Ruth,
I know you must be so frantic with the news about Dylan, What part of his brain is missing? DO the Drs think that he can overcome the missing parts?
    Please keep us posted.

    Jen,
I know how you feel when it comes to feeling that we deserve oral gratification. It seems there is so much tension in the world a little respit of choc seems earned. I am afraid I felt that way last night. I felt I really deserved that Kit Kat BAr

HI to Sandy, Dianne, Essie, Terri and LInda

    Hugs,

    Janie
  • Janie, I know it is the left side, maybe around the temporal lobe, but I'm not sure. I would have to look at the MRI again. Dylan has been pretty much normal, he runs, climbs, etc... He is has been slow in talking, we are just now able to understand the majority of the words that he is saying. I will definitely keep you posted.
  • Ruth,
my heart goes out to you, Dylan, and the rest of the family. Of course all would hope for no noticeable limitation, or an "easy cure" Meanwhile, you, his family, waits and wonders. My prayers are with you. Life has a funny way of working out. Let's be positive.

    Janie,
hey, if you deserved a KitKat, I'm not arguing! Hope all is well with you.

This Saturday is our annual Family Picnic. We're planning on a water balloon toss, pie-eating contest, and other age-appropriate games. Probably around 60 people in all....I am looking forward to seeing my aunt, etc. Afterwards my kids, their families, my niece, and her 4 kids, always spend the night and we swim, etc. My kind of weekend!

    ~Jen
  • Ruth,
Please keep us posted. It sounds so scary. I will continue to pray for him.
    Great grades girl.

    Jen,
That 2 was probably water for sure. Have a great time with your picnic. Sounds like such fun.

    Es,
Thanks so much for the kind words about my kids. Britts always asks how is Es, Susie and Sammy. Good luck to David with his new girl and your move.

    Janie,
We do deserve a treat like that sometimes. I had one of those new M&M bars. It was 5 points and worth every point.

I lost 1.4 pounds last week. I haven't been able to get on to report.
This week I bicycled 13 miles, walked 10 miles and swam 12 laps today at the pool. It is starting to become a habit.
The first day that I rode the bike I used Britt's old bike and I called Bruce and said
Can you get me a gel seat? My butt hurts. I came home from taking Brandon to a lesson and I opened the garage door and there was a brand new bike. I was like WOW!!!! Britts goes "You are spoiled" I haven't bought a new bike for me since we bought a beach bike in Florida which is when Britts was 2. Not many beaches in northern Alabama.
When we go on the 3 mile walking trail sometimes Bradley and I ride it a couple times while Britts walks with Brandon. It is fun.
  • Hi Buds

Today is our big day. I pick up the keys in 1 hour. Today Pete & I will move the small stuff & tomorrow the guys will move the furniture. We have to pick up the UHAUL at 8:AM.

You probably won't be hearing from me till Tuesday. I'll miss you's. I'll be on program no matter what!

Have a great weekend my friends.

    Hugs,
    Es
  • Terri,
Congratulations on your loss!! That is great. I am not expecting a loss this week even though I have been pretty good about staying OP (except the Kit Kat). It is right before my TOM. No matter how good I am I always gain this week.

    Es,
Hope your move goes smoothly. With all the packing and unpacking and lifting and hauling, I know you'll be getting your exercise.

    Jen,
SOunds like you've got a great weekend ahead of you. Have fun!!! We are going up to Napa tomorrow to visit my FIL, so I won't be in here until Monday. I don't know where we left off on that saga last summer, but he did finally get into the Vet's home up there. He is now talking about moving again. He will never be happy anywhere. I just hope he doesn't screw this up because it's kind of his last chance.

    Ruth,
good luck on your exams, I know you'll do great!!

Hope Dianne and Linda are enjoying thier vacations.

    Hugs,
    Janie
  • Es,
Enjoy and try not to work to hard.

Thanks Janie. Hope it all works out for everyone. I remember when all that was going on.

    Have a great Friday everyone.
    Terri
  • Hi Honey......I'm Home!!!
Hi everyone! Sorry it's taken me awhile to say "hi" . We got home last Sunday and Monday I was making all sorts of calls for the upcoming surgery.

First things first - We had a ball in WDW!!! DH absolutely loved the condo and the fact that he could walk into Epcot and MGM. I had worried so much that he wouldn't like it and boy was I ever wrong!!! We had such a good time that we're seriously thinking of moving there in a few years. We've always loved Florida but this trip re-kindled those ole feelings. Ears were fine on the plane, but now bothering me some. That's ok; I'm not flying anywhere and I'll see the Allergy Doc. before the operation.

Surgry - August 9th. I've been for my pre-testing and medical clearance. Next Saturday I go for blood typing and cross matching and today we picked up a "Hip Replacement Chair".

Is out of the office until Thursday and I'm taking Friday off!!! Since I have to work Wednesday that will be my day off. I've already scheduled the Allergy appt. that day and I'll see if I can squeeze in a haircut. I'm told that I can't shower until all the stitches are out and that's 2 weeks!!!!! My hair!!!!

So give me a few days to catch up with things....hope everyone has been well.

    Hugs to all....
  • Morning everyone,

I hope everyone is off to a good start to their week. We had a quiet uneventful weekend. I studied all day Saturday, should have studied yesterday, but I blew it off. Now my nose will be to the grindstone!

I weighed this morning I was down a pound. No bad considering I haven't been seriously doing anything. So this morning I stopped at the store, bought my water for the day and I logged onto Weight Watchers to record my weight and my class of coke for this morning. Now, I just have to develop a game plan for the rest of the week!

Linda, sounds like you had a wonderful time in Florida. Just what you needed before your surgery, fun and relaxation. So you're thinking about moving to Florida. I have a cousin that lived in Florida for a while, now she is in Texas, but she can't wait to move back.

Janie, did you go to Napa this weekend. I use to live in Fairfield, CA, we would drive through the vineyards sometimes. Beautiful country!!!

ES, hope you survived the move!! I know you are excited. Hopefully my hubby and I will be making another move in a few years. I'm so tired of living in a mobile home, I want a real house! with lots of room, I'm a pack rat!

    Terri,

Thank you for keeping Dylan in your prayers. I finally had a chance to talk with his mother yesterday. He has another appointment in a few months with a neuro surgeon to have another MRI. That makes me feel somewhat better. This is definitely a waiting game. Have I mentioned that his mother is pregnant. We are expecting our 7th grandchild in late September or early October. Since Chasity found out about Dylan's condition, she has had an ultra sound to check the baby she is carrying, all organs are normal and the baby is already over 3 lbs. With 2 months left, he may be 8 lbs or so!

Well, the books are calling my name, time to study. Everyone take care and I'll check in with you later.

    Ruth
