Election Monday

  • Hey ladies,

To all Canadians remember to vote (although I shall endorse no one since this isn't a political board)!

Anyway, I wasn't OP this weekend, but am back on plan today so yah!

My insurance company keeps not calling me which is annoying since we need the insurance to close on our house.... Hopefully we'll hear from them soon!

    Hope everyone is doing well!

    Ali
  • I wouldn't know who to endorse although I have strong feelings about one party, but I won't elaborate.

What is important is to VOTE!!

How are you Ali?? I am OK - had a busy weekend. Fought with DF over getting another dog. I think we have decided, through fighting to wait until after our dog is gone and we had kids, or at least one kid...I hope to be pregnant by next Christmas! Knock on wood.

Eating wise my weekend was good. Working out not good. I haven't been good at the workouts in a long time, which makes me upset. I have start from scratch now. But I know I need to, I just have to get it together. Now that things are "settling down" I can really focus!!

I am looking forward to WI on Wed, hoping it's a good one...

Where the heck is everyone this week? With summer here, we should be around telling eachother about our camping, adventures, outdoor exercise....Kier's wedding!?

    Come on out and PLAY???!!!!
  • Hey all... I will decline to vote since I am not Canadian, but all Americans... Remember to vote in November!!!

I am super duper busy at work again. This is getting annoying. I am picking up slack from a very not so productive person! We went camping this weekend and it was super cold and super buggy. Emma's eyes swelled shut from mosquito bites on them. I had brought benedryl along and very glad I thought to bring it.

I have a ton to do...
  • Belle: I am loyal to one party (the party I always have voted for) and have very strong opinions about another let's just say, I won't elaborate either . I heard from all three candidates I wrote to... I want a dog too... my BF doesn't like how much they tie you down though (Cats are more independant I guess), but he does love dogs... I would love a puppy The move is making me stress eat argh!!! Oh well, it will be done soon! I keep panicking about stuff not happening or the movers not showing up etc.

Jen: ouch, I am really sensitive to mozzy bites too, I hope she's allright!

    Cheers!

    Ali
  • What day is your move? Our dog does tie us down a bit, in that we have to get home, etc, but I think the pros outweigh the cons. Besides, you know when you have kids you'll be VERY tied down, so it's good practice.
  • Hello!
    Hi Ali, Belle, and Jen!

I haven't been around much, mostly I've just lurked. I'm busy at work with a major project, and have been eating more than I should. Here's how it usually goes for me: Monday through Thursday are good. Friday I start pigging out and don't stop until late Sunday night. I'm toying with the idea of going back to WW, especially because I got on the scale yesterday and I'm up to 193. I simply cannot weigh over 200 again. Since I don't struggle during the week, I'm thinking that if I go back to the WW meetings, it will help me to be more responsible on the weekends. It's worth a shot.

So, since it's Monday, I'm (of course) back OP and starting over. Again for the 1,000,000th time. I've actually been doing really good with exercising, though. I walked for an hour three times last week and plan to do it again tomorrow night and Thursday night and hopefully at least once on the weekend.

I'm still doing Subway two nights a week, but have been trading hours with people and ended up having last week off and two weeks before off. I had a visit with a counselor and have the binge-eating under control. He asked me to start a journal and before I binge, to write down what I'm feeling. It's helped A LOT because now I'm identifying what's causing me to eat and, rather than eating, I'm dealing with it. Unfortunately, the OVER eating isn't as easily dealt with.

Still with Aaron, of course. Couldn't be happier. Despite my parents objections over the years, I've stuck with him and he's finally turning into an adult. I have exactly the boyfriend I've always wanted. Finally.

I'm going to try to get out and post more often, but I really have so little going on outside of work and Aaron that I'm afraid my posts are plain boring.

Ali--I'm afraid I'm one of those people who favors a cat over a dog. I think mostly because they don't drool. Of course, I'd also favor a cat over a child for the same reason, so I can't offer advice about cats or dogs. (Or kids for that matter). I hope your insurance hurries up and calls you back--they shouldn't make you wait like that--don't they realize how hard it is on us?

Belle--Yay for you for the good eating. I'll tell you (from personal experience) that exercise combined with wrong eating doesn't lead to much weight loss. Eating right combined with little or no exercise will still sometimes help you to lose. And, it's easy to start exercising. I just forced myself to do it. I put on headphones, grabbed my cell phone (in case I passed out from not working out for so long) and started off on my walk. That was all there was to it. And after the first time, I realized I kind of liked it. Now, I just have to do it often enough that I don't forget that.

Jen--Sorry to hear you're so swamped at work. Even though your camping trip sounds a little stressful, I'm jealous--I haven't been camping yet this year and didn't get to go last summer, either. (Aaron's work schedule prevents us from doing much camping).

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hi. Like I said earlier, I really will try to stop in more.
