Strawberries

  • WOOHOO!!! The strawberries are in season here. DH and DD's went yesterday and picked a HUGE flat of them. oh my, I think I'm switching from LC ice cream (it's starting to make me sick to my stomach anyway) to strawberries He was going to GIVE them to this older couple he knew. Guess he's gonna have to pick more
  • Strawberries are like gold to me now! I can't believe it...they are soooo good.
  • I'm a big strawberry fan! They have a variety here called Hood Strawberries that are the most amazing things I have ever tasted in my life.
  • I want to get some heavy cream. whip it up and put it over some strawberries. Can you believe that sounds better than CHOCOLATE to me??? Yah, shocks me too!!
  • I do that! I'll cut up strawberries, add a little splenda if needed, make some whipped cream using my german chocolate cake DaVinci sf syrup and then layer it into a wine glass or martini glass. Yummy and very princess-like
  • I still don't have any DaVinci syrup. All I've got is the Walden Farm chocolate sauce which tastes YUMMY. So maybe I'll make half "plain" and half for just eating
  • Please tell me where you get the DaVinci SF syrup. I've looked at the health food stores and I heard that TJ Maxx has it sometimes, but we don't have a TJ Maxx. Do I need to order it or can it be purchased from a regular supermarket?
  • I believe some of the women on here order it off from the online store. I know the grocery stores around my area don't have it. It's why I've used Walden Farms
  • I can find them almost everywhere lately. All the low carb stores have them. Grocery stores have them. But for me it's been about the price. Since most places charge around $8.00 a bottle (well worth it, but still!) If you have a place like United Grocers around, they have every flavor you can come up with and they're only around $3.50 per bottle.
  • We don't have any United Grocers around here that I know of, but I'm diligently checking the few supermarkets we have. I did find two bottles at Marshall's. They have a small gourmet section on some shelves at the back of the store around their cookware, frames, dishes, etc. I paid $5.99 for a SF hazlenut syrup and the only other thing they had was a SF lemon tea (very condensed) so I bought it also. As soon as induction is over I'm going to make the flax muffins using the hazlenut. I want the brown sugar but can't find it yet.
