Es, my sympathies to you on having to work with that woman For the Cobb salad, I simply add up the points for the meats, cheese and egg, then the dressing, which I only dip in. Usually allow about 12 points, which isn't bad if I've planned for it.

Have to run....we're working the last two Saturdays in June because so many people put off purchasing their yearly vehicle stickers till the deadline but it's only a half day so it's not too bad.

Hi Girls

So glad the weekend is here. I have to run a few errands today. I'm taking Pete out to the chinese buffet for Father's Day this afternoon. Tomorrow they're charging double. They think they're slick. I'll have to drink alot of water tomorrow.

A woman I work with joined WW with her 26 yr. old daughter & her daughter lost 25 lbs. in two months. Is that cool or what. Stick to it & you lose. What I can't understand is when people say it's too much food. Why don't I feel that way. The atty. I work for joined 2 weeks ago & she thinks it's too much food & that she wouldn't lose. She lost 6 the first week & one the next & she's already discouraged. She thinks it's going to take too long. She has around 80 or more lbs. to lose. She was on LA weightloss & lost 45 lbs. in 2 yrs.! It got too expensvie so she decided to try WW for the 50th time.
She comes in with a shopping bag of food. It's so funny. The Points Police better not see her!

Well, my friends, let me jump in the shower & get ready to hit the stores which I know is going to be like a mad house. Lots of great sales for Father's Day.

Too much food? no way It's easy to become discouraged if we expect instant results. This week has been not so good for me, but it's my own fault. After two weeks of substantial losses, I let the journalling slide; combined with working late hours and not planning enough....it's all contributed to my feeling out of control again. Enough of that! I'm planning the week's dinners today, so I won't have any excuses.
Hope your dinner was good yesterday.

Jess, Michael and the boys are coming over today, and Joey as well. We're having a bbq for Father's Day. It's too cold to swim, upper 60's and sunny yesterday, cloudy today.

I am so sorry about your dad. My dad acted so out of character when he went into the hospital. They called it the sundown syndrome. He said some awful things and had hallucinations. He saw people on the ceiling and told nurses that they had wild sisters (he didn't know them) It was scary and sad. He also reacted badly to the demerol. They realized they couldn't give it to him cause he was always worse when they did. He was fine when he went home. Although he was still a little snappy (out of character).

We are going to Ohio this Wed. We have a wedding and a baby shower.
I love going there in the summer. It is so different than at Christmas time. We went up the last time in the summer in 2001. My BIL is going to watch my dad so my mom can go to the shower with us. She doesn't get out much.

I will try to stay in touch up in Ohio. Britts will have her lap top.

This morning's weigh in was not pretty.....up 1/4 lb. I knew it was coming, but am not going to let it get me down. I'm journalling, planning meals and focusing on water. I know I will have a better week and post a loss next Monday.

You are so right. Don't let it get you down. You know what you did and you can fix it. You will lose it. When you do great and don't know why you gained then it is discouraging. Everytime I gained I knew what I could have done better. With me it was always to much sodium close to weigh-in. I stopped high sodium foods 2 days before weigh-in.

cobb salad

light meals | Put this classic salad back on your menu. We trimmed it down so it's full of flavor, not fat.

Ingredients


8 cup romaine lettuce, chopped
1/2 pound 99% fat-free deli-sliced turkey breast, cut into thin strips
1/4 pound low-fat Swiss cheese, cut into thin strips
1 large tomato(es), diced
8 slices cooked crisp turkey bacon, crumbled
1 large egg(s), hard-boiled, diced
1/2 cup fat-free blue cheese dressing


Instructions


Arrange lettuce in 4 salad bowls. Evenly divide turkey, cheese, tomato, bacon and egg among bowls.


Spoon 2 tablespoons of dressing over each salad just before serving.



Chef Tips

We renovated Cobb Salad by:


Substituting lean turkey breast for chicken or turkey lunch meat.


Swapping low-fat Swiss cheese for regular and using lean turkey bacon instead of pork.


Cutting back on the amount of fatty ingredients such as cheese, egg and dressing.

Evening ladies! I've been a little busy these past few days and haven't had time to check in!

Someone wanted to know if I was buying a house in the Pocno's...I already have one. Milt (some Puerto Rican name, huh???) surprised me some 20 years ago with this house. Long story....I'll tell it one day. We try and get there as often as possible yearly. It's been awhile and we needed to make sure things were ok. I love my house. It's so neat and un-cluttered unlike the apartment here in Da Bronx!! On the dining room table there, the only thing in the middle of the table are some dried flowers. Here, I need a weeks notice if I want to eat on the table!!! It would take that long to clear it of all the magazines, old mail, food saver machine, fruit bowl, WW literature, and crap in general!!

Anyway my time on the at work is non-existant. has been in such a mood, that I don't dare get on line unless it's business related. So until he becomes "human" again, all my posts will be done from home.

I hope all the "fathers" had a great day yesterday.

Now that we're down to just Joe and I at home, I've been on a rampage, tossing things and trying to simplify. Life is hard enough as it is, without all the trappings and JUNK!!! Joe is a ratpack (has to do with growing up in a family of 9 kids, and they had nothing, so he saves everything)

Hi guys:

Hope you all had a good weekend and the guys had a happy father's day.

The weekend was good, but yesterday, was hard. I mentioned that I had to go with Alana for some medical tests - well, a couple of weeks ago, she had a gyn exam and it appears they found what they think is an abnormal cell so yesterday she went to have (can't think of the name of the first test) something ....scopy (where they just took a look), and a biopsy. She was pale and dizzy when she came out of the exam room and in a bit of pain. The tests are to rule out cervical cancer. I did my best to encourage her not to worry, that these tests (pap smears) are not fool proof, etc. because I know she takes her cue from me - we are so close. But, privately, I have a lump in my throat that doesn't go away. I know that whatever happens, we will deal with it, but I also know that if anything happened to her, I would be in a mental institution. Sorry, just venting my feelings right now - I'm sure everything will be fine. Thanks for listening.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I know how close you two are. Like Britts and I. I am sure it will be ok. Britts had a tumor on her ovaries and we weren't sure if it was malignant or not and it was a scary time. She lost 1 ovary and her fallopian tube. Even though I had a feeling it would be ok I still had that fear. I will pray for Alana and your family. When it comes to our kids...

Please know that you and Alana are in my prayers. My step daughter has pre-cancerous cells, she has to go to the doctor every 3 or 4 months, but so far everything has been fine. Keep thinking positive and please keep us informed on how the test turn out.
