Hey! I had one in 1995! Still going strong too! I'm so glad to see another transplant person here. I find it helps to have less salt and fewer carbohydrates. Also less sugar helps.

I had a kidney transplant June 3, 1999. My mom gave me one of hers. Do you mind if I ask both of you what caused your loss of kidney function? Mine - lets see. I found out I have Lupus (November 1994) and I was born with one kidney and the lupus was attacking the one kidney. I have put on about 100 pounds since 1999. I think I need to start exercising on a daily basis. Nice to meet people who are in the same "boat".

Hey! My kidney failure was from "unknown" reasons! It may have been a chemical I was exposed to a few years ago. Kidney problems run in my family so I guess I was one of the LUCKY ones who inherited it.

How many mgs of prednisone do you all take? I'm down to 5mg per day.
