Hi all!
Looking forward to getting to know you all. I started SBD on Monday. It's been fun! I have tried great new recipes from the book as well. Today...I had a challenge: I was contracted out to work in a Dr.'s office for the first time. The doc comes in with a box of bagels and says, "I brought bagels in your honor! Come on and have one." OY! I felt I couldn't refuse. I did have a semi-victory as I only ate 1/2. I have been perfectly following the plan since Monday (and stuck to it after the evil bagel). Is this 1/2 bagel going to seriously derail me? Will it have a huge effect on resolving my insulin resistance which is the goal of Phase I?
Now...about me. I am 39 YO and work professionally in a medical field. I am currently working on my doctoral degree (can you say STRESS!!). About 4 years ago I lost 83 lbs. with WW. I do LOVE WW...but I just felt I needed a jump start lately after gaining back about 50 lbs (I lost 25 of it by following WW again). I have 25 lbs. to go to goal. I have never really subscribed to the Atkin's philosophy, but SBD's combination of lower fat and allowing the "good" carbs made sense to me. I really liked the info about the glycemic index in food and how that affects our blood sugar and cravings.
I am married (will soon be 11 years!!) with 7 cats and a dog. My hobbies include knitting and geocaching (ever heard of it!?!?)
Thanks for any light you can shed on my question/dilemma too!
BGG

Okay, I'll bite... what's geocaching?!?

Small world. right??
and keeps us all in stitches!
